I may start breeding earlier than spring, but I need to keep the sativas under 3 feet, I only need a male to get some pollen from, so I was thinking of leaving them in party cups to stunt them, any thoughts?

Well the thing about photo sativas is alot of them already grow in 12/12, so they grow huge even tho...a smaller cup may kill her from being root bound. i know of one landrace from Africa that is short in stature(for a sativa that is) and flowers fast...its actually on my list of seeds to get...Ethiopian highlander and it can be found here... http://en.seedfinder.eu/strain-info/Ethiopian_Highland/African_Seeds/

Hi Budz,

I have some some experience with a vietnamese landrace, if I let it go outdoors here in ON where I am some summers it can 8'-10' a friend of mine grew a few in florida he chopped it at 16 weeks flowering and it was over 13'

anyways only way i found to keep them short is crop above the first node set do you have 2 main stems then crop those again, also for pollen go 12/12 right from seed.

Yeah they can get real tall :D thanks for the info, it's going to be interesting once I get them going, I prefer sativa, so I hope all turns out the way I plan

There is always the old trick of staking them and running ropes to pull them over so they grow more paralell to the ground. All the side branches grow upwards making many tops and keeping them down to five feet of so.
