Hello, will be growing my 1st ever auto grow in the next wk or so, in a 1400 x 1000 x 400 box I've got a 120w prakasa 7 spectrum led light, question is I want to keep them short so what is the best method to do this and what does it involve?

I will be using 1x big buddha automatic
1x big buddha critical mass
:toke:

Small pots and LST (low stress training)
Search LST and you will find plenty of info on it

lights

I have read and heard if u keep the lights closer it will keep them shorter and bushier just as long as it doesnt burn them .....what you running isnt very hot so maybe keep the light close. till you flower them

ive heard it said if u put it to high from the plant the nodes will be very spaced out and if it as low as it can be w/o burning the leaves it will be short and compact but that LST shit is the bast at short and abundance .....my hippie mother would tie her plant down along the backside of her shrubs for stealth and she always had the goods

Tiering? What's involved in that I know about paper cups and cutting the bottom of the cup off but how does it actually work?:bong:

The tiered method does work. Two cups, one inside the other, with the bottom cut out of the inner one and drainage holes in the outer one. When it's time to transplant just remove the outer cup and stick the other one half way deep in the larger pot. Roots grow out of the cup and into the pot. Just a way to simplify transplanting and avoiding actual handling of the plant and it's roots.

Keeping your light lower will help to keep the plants shorter. Instead raising or lowering it to maintain the optimal 1" node spacing, keep it to 1/2" and the plants will stay smaller. Just keep in mind that a shorter, bushier plant needs good air circulation to avoid the possibility of mold.

i dont know of any personally ....but im trying 2 lst and 1 tiering and another just plain jane to see what i like the best for future grows ...im sort of new to autos but i love them so far ......they bad ass plants for sure either way u go !!!!!
