Lighting Just throwing this out here, you have a $400.00 target ( not set in stone), what l light are you buying ?

Dr. MJ Coco's review is what has me asking.
The spectrum of a light drives plant shape; the output of a light drives crop yield and quality. I use a veg light and a grow light and get good results. If I were in the market for grow lights, I'd be very tempted to go with a ProGrow 320 which is <$300. That's a big change from someone who spent $1100± on two Growcraft lights but there's lots of good reasons for that light…other than the 800 $1 reasons.
The kicker for me is that the PPFD map, if it's accurate, it is the most PPFD even map I've seen. Better than the Spider SE7000 and the XPS 1500 Pro.
One drawback is that it's a flower spectrum but shell out some $$ for a Rapid LED Royal Blue puck and that will help with plant shape. One of the mods here on AFN uses a Growcraft flower light + the puck — that's where I got the idea. The spectrum for the ProGrow looks to be a clone of the flower spectrum from Growcraft.
You'll have to get 2 of those lights to cover 4' x 4' but the last thing you want to skimp on is lights —nutes ≠ food; photons are what plants use to make food. One way to swing the extra $$ for w lights is to use dry ferts instead of premix. You can get enough dry ferts to last a decade for about $150.

Since 2016 I’ve been running a 4x4 under 450w of DIY COBs. They’ve been great. Just starting to setup a new 4x8 and am retiring my COBs to the garage (they’ll be great working on the bikes). I’ve gone with 4 HLG 350 Diablos. Ordered this morning after talking with them. Asked if I should hold off till Black Friday, they gave me the Black Friday price, 25% off. So it was buy three get one free.

Luv them. Can’t even get them to full power as I have them setting. 3 across the 4x8 will hit 80dli at 18 hrs. I have them backed down to 60. Am a couple weeks from starting to cut, and nice looking nugs, even deeper into the canopy than I’m used to seeing.
All my issues this run have been from getting the dli way to high and the high CO2 levels causing a couple of voracious ladies. Just can’t keep them fed.

Indoor - Growing Scrog
Amazing growing @420autoflower ! I was sitting out in the garage last night thinking of a way to stretch out a net. lol Maybe some day. Thanks Rick! :lol: A freestanding rack to hold your net would work great in your grow area. I’m thinking of making a couple myself for a summer outdoor scrog...

What's your methodology for DLI in a tent that big...maps, apps, meters/how do think about your average with varying height plants in different places throughout?

Really, about the only downside to that setup is the heat. I so wish that HLG would just set their lights up so you could remotely mount the driver in stock form when you get it.
I love the hell out of my Diablo 650 R! But that thing throws out the heat! it would be fine right now if I was growing a canna crop at the moment instead of just a cover crop. In my 4x4 Gorilla tent, I usually two bottom front round vents as my intake vents with 6 inch Ventilation hose with screens on the end for filtration. With wanting to run the tent had a bit lower temperatures and flower this last round, I added a 4 inch ventilation hose using the top left hand vent with the hose directed at the driver. With the exhaust fan being at the back and exhausting out the top on the right hand side, I was able to keep the temps down. Now this does mean I run my exhaust fan at a fairly high rate for a pretty good amount of air exchange. I get an average of 5*F Rise of my tent temperatures over the lung room temps.
I do like the multiple setup with that particular light! Even with those reflectors helping focusing the light, you're still going to get nice bleed off well there's combined light. That's one of the reasons why you're getting good light penetration. The other is that it's just a damn good light!
I wish I had one for my 2 by 4 right now, even though that Mars SP3000 has done an amazing job! Or two of the HLG 200 Rspec that I bought for my 2.3x2.3 tent.
