Hey y'all got a question bout the feared botrytis aka BUD ROT!!!!! I have some royal dwarf by RQS and their outdoors had one about 4 weeks ago get it and cut most off and salvaged rest indoor I can also bring this one indoor if need be but what are chances of it spreading to my blue dream'matic that's indoors as she's the one I'm babying the most I found it today and it wasn't bad bad just a couple small larfy popcorn size buds turned brown and still had the white cotton or spider web along stem and on couple other buds I cut the entire branch off to get it away from rest and another side question I checked the top main like cola and she looks good no browning or brown on stem at base of the bud the ones with brown starting at base of stem at node I know can't do much with it if it's in the bud but the rest can i save it by washing in h2O2 the "WASH" per se and will it kill it and be ok to smoke first pic is top cola n second is the ones with least sign is it ok or not could I squish it n make a dab or would that be bad too

Smoking some of the not-quite-dried Forum Stomper. Well, vaping. Too wet to burn well otherwise.

Not bad at all :pass:

Yeah you don't want to smoke that. The spores are pretty harsh on the lungs.

I wouldn't bring it anywhere near your other plants inside either buddy!

Yeah like they said, botrytis is highly mobile, I have dealt with it in greenhouses, it is a scourge I have yet to experience on my plants. (fingers crossed).
Now I *believe* the conditions have to be right for it to actually colonize and damage your other plants, but I would not take the chance myself.

@trailanimal is dealing with it right now maybe he can offer insight for the outdoor stuff.

Don't move the plant. Carefully remove the rot and drop it in a bucket of water. remove nearby stuff that might be affected. Use the h2o2 solution. Keep an eye out for more and nip it quick. Good luck :pass:it's common here. You don't want to spread it around...It's a drag but doesn't have to be a disaster

Sound advice. Also, Hi, Jraven!

I think from memory the mix to spray your girls with is 1 quart h202 to 1 gallon of water to try and minimise it's spread.
The mixture depends on the concentration of the H2O2 solution. Most stuff in the shops is between 3 and 8 percent. You can get higher concentrations, but don't go crazy. Unless the final mixture is over 10-15% H2O2, it'll not only kill the spores, but any other critters as well. Anything higher risks greater damage to the plant. The reaction that destroys the bad guys releases water and oxygen, so it's pretty safe to work with as long as you keep if off your skin. Won't hurt the plant much either, but the potential is there for slight damage to the outer cell walls. Not enough to be terribly concerned, really.
