So this Duke did something gnarly I haven't ever seen before. It topped itself and grew out this funky shaped leaf on top. Then the stalk did this weird flattened growth with what looked like a vein hoping out. It eventually morphed into a leaf that is halfway grown into the stalk which looks like a new top. I've never seen a leafy pop through the main stalk the way this did.

Is that an auto? Ive seen some weird mutations pretty often since i e been growing autos

Yes it's an auto. Mutations can occur from a wide number of different issues. This more than likely came from either over fertilized/hot medium or too much light. Knowing your cultivars always helps diagnosing issues and I know the Duke is a bit finicky with both light and nutrients. It will grow out of this and more than likely be a nice plant bye the end.

I finally got health insurance at the machine shop after not having any for the last 16 years and not seeing a doctor. I finally have a new primary care doctor and an appointment Monday! Never thought having a doctors appointment would get me so excited lol. I've got a ton of stuff wrong with my body so I'm looking forward to getting fixed up a little bit.

I have noticed that with certain mutations as well, that they can be grown out of.

Hi my friend
I have seen this before in different cultivars. What is the cross and what generation ? Sometimes they start to grow like a monster in a few days but I also had plants that didn't make it.

What are your plans? Do you grow them out or kill them?

Shes already grown out of the issue and cruising ahead.

Its my cross I call The Duke and is a R3 generation, which is a pairing of Mephiso Forgotten Cookies x Blue Dog R3 ( Chemdoggin x Blue Cheese). I have grown it quite a number of times and the cultivar is sensitive to Light intensity and over fertilization. I'm pretty sure this more than likely happened because I had just recently fed heavy and cranked the lights up to full intensity. She can be a bit of a finicky grow but is worth a bit of extra attention. I imagine I will see some Nitrogen toxicity with super dark green leaves and the claw later on in the grow from this one as well. The Forgotten cookies is the culprit when it comes to the issues but it's amazing smoke, so I don't mind a bit of a challenge. If I were to do only a grow of the Duke I could probably set the lights and feeding regimen up to accommodate it a bit better, but she is getting the same torture as all of the rest of the girls this run.

I generally try and grow out most all plants, this one just didn't make the breeding cut. Ill finish the grow and have some good flower from this one.
