Photoperiod JD#1 (completed), page 5 Painkiller XL, CBD Purplematic, Critical

Sorry to say I won't post a weekly update this week as I have a trip away, with a long drive and a lot to do beforehand! Just instead dropping in with a question on staggering the harvest of one of the Criticals.

Here is Critical A, some trichs up top are milky white, maybe 30%, and lower buds are not as far along. I'd like to chop off those highest nugs now (two or maybe three, on the left also) and raise the pot so all the lower nugs are closer to the LEDs. Staggering a harvest would be new turf for me, I don't actually know how common or advisable it is. Any input greatly appreciated as ever :smokeit:

 :pop::baked: She would be on her butt for a while. They are photo's though right ?

Nah the Criticals are autos, there is a photo alongside them which is something I will never ever do again :haha:
It might be a shock for her if I chop off the top buds? It's hard knowing the pros and cons man

My bad sometimes I am to poor to pay attention :haha: I have heard auto's do not take kindly to high stress. Hopefully a auto experienced grower will chime in. I am not.

Hey Faux, no problem with staggering harvests. Just clip the tops if they are done. The remaining bud should continue to ripen in affected. I do it whenever my plants finish unevenly. My questionis if any of the buds are done. You mention that they are 30% cloudy, does that mean it’s 70% clear. If so, I would wait until they are at least all cloudy, I usually go a bit longer with 10% amber. Maybe I misunderstood that part of the post.

Yes man that did mean 70% clear and 30% cloudy. Then for more cloudy it can wait til next week. I don't mind the top buds coming down on the earlier side, as the rest can then go long. Alright I think we'll check in on tuesday and if these are past 50/50 they can get the chop. The rest and the bigger of the two Criticals can go long. Thanks a million Iriee, GH :toke:

Weekly update at the end of week 12 :welcome: bad news dudes - we lost a lady!

Critical A has fallen before her time. When we got home from our trip on tuesday her leaves were soggy, crumpled and dead from humidity. Nasty smell. I forgot to switch the extractor to the high setting and the door was left closed for four days or so. What a pity!
I took off all the dead leaves first on tuesday, then the remaining leaves on wednesday, and she just looked like a corpse so I chopped her down yesterday. The whole plant is drying out and the buds don't appear to be rotting, lets hope they stay good.

In any garden a strong plant will be more resistant to all pests and diseases, and less susceptible to adverse conditions. Case in point: Critical B. In the same conditions that killed her weaker sister she didn't even blink. She's still charging and has developed this fantastic grapefruit scent. I pruned off a lot of leaves yesterday now that she's ripening more than growing. Trichs are all clear and pistils are only now beginning to turn orange. Looks like she'll run 14 weeks at least. Drinking plain water.

My back is very painful so I only took photos inside the closet.

Painkiller XL has been potted up into a 3 gallon pot, ready for 12/12. I supercropped yesterday so she's looking sort of mangled, but she'll have time to recover before 12/12. Ignore the tomato pot, they were going for 50cents at the store :haha:

Here's the overall picture of the closet today:

I'm not happy with the current placement of things and when my back allows it I will get in there and raise PKXL.

Thanks for stopping by and have a great smoke tonight dudes :smokeit:

Some housekeeping: this thread is getting quite old and a little messy so I will move Painkiller XL into a new, perpetual thread correctly located in the Indoor Grow Journals section. I will post a link here in the next week or so, of course I'd love to see some of you there, come along if you want to but do not feel obliged!! After flowering PKXL there I will run either Think Different from Dutch Passion, a Northern Lights auto from Royal Queen Seeds, or a Purple Queen photo also from RQS. I will start the new thread when I switch to 12/12, and sign this thread off with Critical B's harvest :smokeit:

Thank you for stopping by GH :pass: yeah the Critical that survived is a steam train. The two came from the same seed pack but they were as different as night and day
