Hello dudes finally some great progress in the past week, in the past 3-4 days actually. A long way to go still as the buds are still very skinny, but she seems to be on the right track :smoking:

She got the kick up the booty she needed through the introduction of synthetic nutes last week and a different approach to soil management this week. I was following Jorge Cervantes' guidance of constant watering as opposed to allowing the medium to dry and then watering heavily. I changed to follow Arjan from Greenhouse Seeds' cycle of feed, flush, dry, repeat. I'll definitely begin this cycle earlier next time :woohoo1:

Maybe a small amount of nute burn in the leaf tips? Not enough to concern me and she was flushed yesterday.

Great shape and trich production but this really shows how slim and lightweight the buds are -- this is one of the three main colas...

The smell is gorgeous, it's all earthy and spicy with some citrus zest. Sticky trichs everywhere, I wish she had more buds and less sticky leaves!

Wish you all a fine weekend :smoking::smokeit:

I see your baby looks fire too interesting to see the way you toped it and prepared at start and stuff i have to give this a try looks like a lot of fun
nice journal :toke: :woohoo::woohoo:
Thanks a lot dude :jointman: yeah it's been cool using photos instead of autos! Newbies like us can learn and practice loads of stuff using photos and soil, it's real slow but almost impossible to fcuk it up :woohoo1:(i know if I tried hydro already I'd kill the girls at some point)

Alright dudes lets get in early for the weekend update :welcome:I kept her under the lights for the pictures this week as she'd been out a while for defoliation already today :smoking:

And just one beautiful little lollipop!! :smoking:

I took off a lot of leaf material today just to make sure those bud sites see the light and reach their potential. I'm still not sure on defoliation, it goes against my instincts but it seems to help the buds a whole lot if you allow the light to hit them.

I think she needs three more weeks under the lights. I'll need to purchase a jeweller's loop or something else to check out the trichs, I definitely won't be taking this plant down until I know for sure that they're ambering. The pistils have had lovely orange colours in them since early flower so they won't be a helpful indicator at all. I'm excited to start my new grow but after spending so long on this plant it would be criminal to jump the gun on harvest!

I have popped the seed for my next grow as I have spare lights. The seedling is ridiculous again just as JD#1 and my failed Charlotte were, at least 12cm long (4-5in) and still stretching. I've tried a different type of lights and found the exact same problem. While I know that burying the stem once it settles down will resolve the issue, I would really like to know how best to grow a nice short, thick plant from the beginning, rather than contending with such an outlandish stretch every time.

Cheers guys and fine weekend, what a weekend it is for an outdoor smoke! You'll find me by the river :smoking:

Hey Faux, Looking good man. Yeah, I would say three weeks is a good estimate. You have lots of white hairs stretching out, which tells me that the buds are still growing a lot. When those hairs retract and you see more calyx, that’s when I start to check for trich colors.

You can limit stretch by increasing light intensity earlier in the grow, either by keeping lights closer, or making them brighter. Plants will stretch more when there is less light intensity.
Enjoy the smoke, Faux! Cheers! :pass:

Looks rly nice like there is snow on them they are geting fater and fater now bud porn :woohoo: :woohoo: :biggrin::biggrin:
