Freshwater lings are nuts. I have family on Lake Roosevelt in Washington that lake is full of them, and they get big! I like catching their non-landlocked cousins the best, but anything is fun on a hook and line. 3 weight Orvis superfine, 7x tippets, [HASHTAG]#24[/HASHTAG] midges, 10" cutthroat, sign me up!

We have some very decent icefishing for ling, but most of the action happens after dark. We dont see huge ling up here...if you get a 10 pounder you should be super psyched!! For us they are generally incidental catches when fishing for lakers, walleye and whitefish. They taste great and are abundant, and the legal keep limits are just insane!(25 fish per person allowed to keep)

We can keep 25 kokanee (landlocked sockeye and coho) per day in some lakes here, that's lots of filleting but it's fun. Luckily its mid-summer and no ice holes to freeze over for those guys. lol

Oh kokanee cool!! I caught a handful of those when i was in BC many, many years ago

That picture reminds me of the way Upper Deschutes between Crane Prairie Reservoir and Little Lava Lake. Awesome pictures.

Hmmm not familiar with any of those!! (eastern central cannada) Lots of diverse landscape around here!!(and lots of fishing opportunities too!!)

I used to have pics of a lot of really cool stuff, thousands of pics of fish from salmon and steelhead to sturgeon, halibut, and anything else from the ocean. A laptop submersion courtesy of my then 3 year old rendered it useless. Kind of sad when prior to that I always shot with 35mm and had negatives as a back plan, but in the digital era I was lost without a backup hard drive, or even the knowledge of their existence. I guess sometimes it's crazy not having cable TV for the exposure most people experience.

Thats tough you lost all of your pics!! I only have pics from the last 8 or so years, never used to take pics before then unless you had a PIG of a fish to take a pic of. :D Some of my old day pics are pretty awesome for sure.

I am a die hard cold water game fish fan, but will hit the warm water lurks for small mouth any time. My dad gave me a case of 6" Paddle Tail Slider worms that he saved from his old tourney days in the 80's, we caught hundreds of fish on them in the 90's and into the early 2000's lol someone bought the molds too I believe, so you can still track them down. Weightless they are like a Sluggo but slim profile and fall slower in the water, wicked little worms!
