Hello everyone! I wanted to ask around to see if anyone has used this with autos and their thoughts/impressions. I grow with amended soil so I don't start adding nutrients till about week 3/4. Based on the feeding chart it calls for their bloom and finish bags but based on what I've read some say it's not needed. Would love to hear everyone's thoughts on it. I like the idea of a single bag at a time for nutrients.

I believe @Olderfart @Cooterjuice run jacks but not sure on their water source but do know they used coco for media

Thanks man! I originally got the idea of @Cooterjuice a few years ago and have been wanting to try it. I think he was using ffof as well.

I have been considering Coco as I already have like 90% of a setup for dtw system but I'm not sure about watering 4+ times a day.

It's easy to setup a drip system if you have an automatic DTW system that's the biggest hurdle and really I've gotten away with once to twice max feedings a day by hand with 3-5 gallon pots. I have been using the flora flex bubble manifold open flow with .5 gph drip emitters at the end of lines. If you need help I'll be glad to post more pics

Appreciate it! I have some hydro halos that I can use that should work. What kind of coco do you normally use and do you buffer it at all? Also how big of a rez do you normally maintain? I have a 5 gal bucket I use currently for my RO rez but I got a feeling for 4-6 plants in 3gal pots that might be too small?

I've been using flora flex coco cause it's been the cheapest the best. I've used most all brick coco and it's fine just needs some washing and definetly all needs buffed. Most bagged coco is buffed but I do know flora flex is not botanicare is my second favorite. I'm a little OCD so I wash and buffer all my coco but safe then sorry IMO plus then you know it's done right.


Most the time once I start a Rez it's 20 gallon tote and I fill with 12-14 gallon unless going away then I fill to the top. I like to refresh every day or two if possible. This current run had been using a 5 gallon bucket for Rez up till now. I switched to a 10 gallon and will be putting them on the big Rez this weekend. I am feeding 4 gallons per day for 4 plants.

I was hand feeding for the first few weeks each week shortening the dry back time. First couple weeks is only feeding every 3-4 days and slowly progress from there typically don't change the fertigatin amount just add fertigations/shorten dry back time.

I use the whole 321 Jack's lineup in coco/perlite with top irrigation, and it works a treat. I think you would be perfectly safe using their bloom and finish products in your soil setup. They are good nutes, and relatively cheap. I expect to be sticking with them long term.

I use them with surface creek water and/or melted snow so far, so my starting EC is low, usually between ~25 to <100. If your water is high EC, you can have it analyzed, and Jack's will let you know which of their products might be your best tool. Good luck with it.

I use automated top watering more or less as suggested by Cocoforcannabis.com, and once the grow is going, I hit them to runoff 6 times a day, spaced evenly during lights on.

@Lil Dab think you convinced me to go ahead and give coco a try, I can get a bag of botanicare that should fill my 4x3 gallons. I'll probably have more questions after my next run as it gets closer. Thanks again!
