It's getting close to the holiday season. Time to whip up a nice batch of cannabuter for making adult holiday treats. I had a good harvest and I have a nice batch of trim and unusable buds. Good high quality herb. I was a little torn between just making it all hash and skipping the edibles this year, but I'm already getting requests.
I'm water curing a quarter pound of bud from my scrap bag. I'm going to water cure about 10 to 15 days this time. After the cure I'm putting it straight into the crockpot with water and 2 lbs. Of butter. Last year I made 1 lb. Using 2 oz's and it was deadly. I'll let it cook 24 hrs. and store in sealed jars. Last years christmas batch was still good in July. I found you can store budder for quite a long time if you make sure to keep all plant material out of your budder and sterilize and seal your containers. I'll let you all know how this years batch turns out in about 2 weeks.

I'm with you O.G. I've got a couple ounces of damaged bud that I'll be water curing and making oil with. Got plenty of trim to make hash so keeping this for oil. LOL, same here. Getting requests for those special brownies!

me and my buddy just finished off the brownies i made last nite.i woke up still ripped!

OG, when I read your post I had one of those moments where the dim, flickering light bulb went off over my head.:D I've been interested in making some cannabutter for a while, but it's not an option to smell up my house doing it. I don't know why I never thought of using a crock pot before. I'm thinking that after my current grow ends I just might put a pot in my tent so the carbon filter can take care of the smell. I guess it might not be the best thing for my filter since they don't like high humidity, so a better option would be to cook it outside on a breezy day. Good food for thought (pun intended)...

yeah Andy it really stinks i never tried it but it could work in a pressure cooker?
but budda is a resin/oil I think that different to cannabutter

I have been excited to make my own cannabutter. Didn't even think of the smell that goes with it! Will have to think of a way around that.

Maybe it's a US thing, but I'm pretty sure budda is just a play on the way "butter" is pronounced and the fact that is has bud in it. No different than cannabutter as far as I know.

The pressure cooker is a good idea if it would work. Should take a day's worth of cooking down to a few hours. Might be something worth researching further.

Do a water cure on it first. It will remove most of the smell and taste before you start cooking it. Less smell in the house and the final product will impart little "weed" taste to your baked goods. Also, little humidity will be given off, especially if the bud is dry first, so shouldn't be an issue with your filter.
