Hello everyone, I'm new to the forum, I have grown before but very basic and did ok.

I have a question, I bought 3 diesel ryders and 3 easy ryders

I am going to grow 3 at a time in soil。 I was wondering if at night I could put them in my wardrobe with LED's and during the day a could put them on my window sill. Do you think that both of the spectrums of light could be used by the plant after eachother or do they need to be used at the same time? I live near Shanghai.

Also are 1 gallon pots suffient? How many watts of LED's do you think? I will buy 1 for each plant so I can have it as close as possible.

Also do you think these LED's are ok - http://item.taobao.com/item.htm?id=5651052293

I know it's in Chinese but if you scroll down it says the wavelenghs

Welcome to the forum. I don't see where they say what wattage LEDs are being used, so I assume they are 1 watters, so a total of 60 watts. Also, they are only using red and blue LEDs. There are much better units available today and since most are being built in China, should be available to you. I'd suggest something in the 180 to 240 watt range using red, blue, orange, white and UV, built with 3 watt LEDs. With a unit along those lines you can grow under it exclusively, using a schedule of 20 on, 4 off, so no need to move them to the window sill. While you can grow them in 1 gallon pots, I'd recommend something a little bigger such as 2 or 3 gallon.

I have had another idea. I will use a 160w LED for each plant, creating a cylinder of mylar around the light and plant pot with a couple of holes for a fan to blow through. What would happen if I used just blue and red spectrums to grow? Couldn't I put them on the window sill during the day to get some other light spectrums?

IMO you're just making extra work for yourself. You would need to remove the mylar every time you water, plus the plant will eventually extend beyond the pot and probably grow into the mylar. I think you'd be better off in a box or cabinet that is mylar lined and use a light that is big enough for all 3 plants rather than separate lights. Those lights with the red and blue are 3 year old technology. Much better ones are available today.
