New Grower III: Fastbuds Jack Herer Auto

Day 27 : 6/6 Water only today. Added 500ml of distilled water with 0.5ml silica and ph down to final numbers:
500ml
52ppm
6.7pH

No runoff, watered in slowly. I'll water again tomorrow and continue doing so with increasing volume until a trickle of runoff again.

Pics: Just a single shot as things are going well. I really thought between the hot soil and the slow start that this one just wasn't going to work out. Nothing but water for 27 days.

What soil are we in chum??

Shes lookin sweet :d5: :jointman: :vibes:

Royal Gold BasementMix. I ran a slurry test early on and it was quite hot reading in the 650-770 range. I approached it carefully trying to dilute it through water only. Starting to look a little lime colored so starting light nutes. Impressed though, nearly 4 weeks on water.

Day 28: 6/7 First dose of nutes. Went a full 4 weeks.

Additions: Sequential ppm/pH, target 350ppm,

1000 ml distilled water 0 8.0
1.25 ml silica/protekt 38ppm 9.7pH
0.625ml magpro 111ppm 7.8pH
Drip FoliagePro 349ppm 6.9pH
pH down Final numbers: 350ppm 6.3pH

500 ml watered in to slight drip of runoff

Day 29: 6/8 Refed again tonight. Slight bump in the intensity. I think I caught the lime fade N def signs early enough on this one. Really pleased with the progress so far. Might be a longer finish time but will end up better.

Additions: Sequential ppm/pH, target 400ppm,

1000 ml distilled water 0ppm 7.9pH
1.25 ml silica/protekt 44ppm 9.8pH
0.625ml magpro 102ppm 8.5pH
Drip FoliagePro 397ppm 7.0pH
pH down Final numbers: 399ppm 6.5pH

500 ml watered in to a dripple of runoff.

Day 30: 6/9 Added next dose of Miicrobial Mass. Mixed at 4ml/L into 1L distilled water. Ended up at 233ppm and 5.0pH, adjusted with a little molasses and pH UP to final numbers: 298ppm and 6.4pH

500ml watered in, nearly 0 runoff. Approaching the plant using 500ml a day now. Not bad!

Double Update: Had to go out of town on emergency work business last minute. I watered in 1L Thursday AM before leaving and left the bottom of the plant with a fair bit of runoff sitting in the dish. I know it's not ideal but I have some nice white roots sticking through the bottom of the grow bag so I hoped it could pull enough water to survive. If I had more notice I would have setup a smal aquarium pump to run for 15 min a day and just keep it wet. The plant has survived.

Day 34: Sunday 6/13 Watered in 1L distilled water to just a drop or two runoff. Looking a bit droopy but I plan to up the watering intensity until it perks back up.

Limey lower leaves again! N deficit. I was too nervous about the soil being hot and I underfed/missed the right time to start adding. Getting better with each grow. Doesn't look near as bad as my priors and I think I know whats going on finally.

Day 35: 6/14 Looking a bit better today. The plant survived the 3 days without attention. Started the changeover to bloom nutrients.

Weekly tag for a few top blokes: Gimme it straight fellas. How's it look, hows the nute plan below, etc..

With these being soil its unchartered waters for me but id like to get @Mañ'O'Green in to maybe advise you on feed ect im pretty sure he wont mind me tagging him

The Royal Gold Basement Mix is one of those coco - soil blends that lives somewhere between coco and soil. You are fertigating like soil so the coco may be accumulating salts? For sure the plants look hungry but is it because of a lock-out situation? It has been a long time since I used Dyna-Gro. I never had pale plants, in fact I often had N toxicity because I did not have or use an EC meter back then and fed full strength. I grew DWC then.
Since you know how to do a slurry test, I would try to get a sample from near the bottom of the pot if you can and see what the PPM looks like. I suspect you have a build-up in which case a nutrient flush of 35% strength balanced nutrients to 30% run-off for the next 3 fertigations and then fertigate to 15-20% run-off every time you water or fertigate. If the slurry test comes out low <300 PPM then just up the nutrients by 20% and continue with minimal run-off.

In either case I recommend a foliar application of Kelp, Fulvic acid and B-vitamins or Earth Juice Microblast. Just one time.

:goodluck:
