Hello and welcome!
You are about to see another of my grow experiments. This time i have few goals to reach, will try to do that in next 3-4 months. Hoping to be able to manage this, all this is not so new for me, but it's my first attempt to go as much organics as possible, knowing that this is hydro.

And here is a to-do list in this cycle:
  • Going deeper with using bio in DWC, understanding new feed methods, using organic fertilizers in dwc
  • making few kinds of teas, testing these
  • making own organic flower - stimulator, containing many P, testing it
  • trying to put that stretchy plant (judging by reviews i have read here and there n the net) in tiny box and getting max fruits out of her
  • testing of giving small doses of CO2 straight to DWC
  • closed biosphere analysis in various stages of plant's life, using minimal available equipment
  • bringing your opinions and advises together (hoping that will work)
Some info about everything:
  • Space available for the plant W40 L30 H48
  • DWC is diy, 9.5l of working tea
  • HS1 reassembled on DIY setup. Added 77W of mainly white light. Using HS1 only till flowering.
  • Nutes will be mentioned after using these, i still do not know exactly what will be needed, will sort that out, that is one of goals.
Seed:
  • R-KIEM Seeds - Icer
  • Genotype: San Francisco Valley X cut preserved of Ice-Cream
  • Flavor: With an acid bouquet, this strain astronishes many growers
  • Indoor: 3 Weeks of vegetative CFL, 8 weeks of bloom HPS
  • Outdoor: End of September
All right, let's go!

Now it is day 7 after she dropped her helmet. Nothing unusual, she's growing well, developing her roots and already reached the tea.
Tea was made 2 weeks ago, using this:
  • Cellmax Root booster - 20ml
  • GHE Diamond nectar - 10ml
  • Hesi supervit - 3 drops
  • TNC Mycorr hydro - half of tea spoon
  • TNC Molasses - 5ml
Till now all molasses seems to be eaten, as pH is stable for last few days (it have risen constantly because of that bio activity).

And here is a question: should i try to beat pH down, if biosphere is rising it actively?

Here is a plant today. Photo of roots is taken day ago, simply now my plant is sleeping and i can't disturb her for taking photo, it is photosensitive...

Anyway, as my plant is getting stronger, i started to make a first good tea for her. It will be ready in a week, till then firt tea will do, only few of mineral nutes will be added a bit later, in 2-3 days from now.

So, here is something about tea-making, i have thought something out :D
  • Will use 2 types of tea-making chambers: aerated one and one non - aerated, for separate tea recipies.
  • Both chambers will release their gasses thru CO2 resistant back flow stoppers and will go straight to air stone in DWC.
  • Aerated chamber will have it's own air pump.
  • Non aerated chamber will push gasses out just by it's pressure.
And here goes my aerated chamber model (tubings are temporary, CO2 resistant ones will be used, they are on the way:

Other chamber is still under construction, it will be used for making organic flower - stimulator.

So, here goes step one of making my first tea:
bactotea1-step1-biohumus-activation.jpg

Have used:
  • worm castings
  • some flakes (firs added non - grinded ones, then understood that it's nonsense and added some more grinded ones)
  • 1 drop of "Baikal EM1" - that is superb Bio product from Russia, i am using it jut to activate my worm castings
  • 0.1ml of TNC molasses (that is just a molasses)
Waiting till that will work out, then will add some TNC Bactor and brew first good tea out of that.
Will update when something interesting will happen, will try to see thru microscope what that activated worm castings looks like, take photo of that and share these with you :)

Stay with me on some more biology stuff, this will be interesting :)
Hoping not to fuck - up in a process, that would be real shame :smoking:

One more time - welcome! Hoping that you find some interesting stuff here for you too!

Subbing for this one! It is going to be interesting to see how this turns out and what lessons can we learn from it. Good luck and all the best for this adventure!

Small update

For time passed, there were no important changes. Started to remove center leaf, to stop center from being "center" without topping. Plant started to smell already, damn, what it will be in flower :D Seriously, i need filter already :D
Finished making first bacto tea in this cycle. It took some more time to achieve, because i have added black soil on the way, just to to have wider diversity of positive micro organisms in my tea. Just poured everything to tank, will see how it will work.

And this is what is in that tea (in small drop of it) x1200

Feeding in all that time

Day 9
Added 10ml of TNC CalMag + 5ml of molasses + some of locally brewed humatic tea "Humi dyk", just to check that out :D Will try to feed that concentrate with molasses and see what lurks there :D

Day 15
Removed 2 leaves from center

Day 16
Removed another 2 leaf from center, added 200ml of freshly brewed bacto - tea + 5ml of molasses + 200ml of water to fill dwc up

Tried to measure EC with my tds-meter, just for fun :D It shows over 1200ppms right now...

And this is what my 120 micron mesh filter catched on maintenance run. Everything looks well and alive, plant also seems to be happy with it..

Decided to cancel one of goals for this cycle - will not make any flower stimulator. Did not found any plant material with high P, it could be found in bone meal, but bone meal is not plant material and i have no needed equipment to make nutes for hydro of that. SO, one of goals is gone, but there are more interesting goals, so i think nothing bad will happen, if i cancel just one of them :)

I took "Baikal EM-1" and put drop of it in to water with molasses, left for two days to brew, and that is what i found there :D Will try to make tea out of it for sure!

That's it!

Crazy microscopic videos dude! Your plants looking lovely

Some update :)

Veg is passing without any problems, there were signs of tiny overdose (slightly lighter tips of some leaves), but adding just some plain water fixed it instantly.
In time passed i have removed another pair of leaves from center few days ago (4th from there already), and today i did serious defol. Will give her 4-5 days to recover from that and will switch to 12/12.
Feeding:
Few days ago added 750ml of water and some Liquid silicone, EC~1100ppm. Today added 1.5l of water and nothing more , EC~1000ppm. PH keeps at 6.2 - 6.4, i am not trying to lower it more yet, there are totally no signs of pH issues on the plant.
Making another humatic tea, this time of biohumus + grinded oats + molasses + mycorhizae, trichoderma + will add some bactor and bactobloom bacteria later. That will be tea for flowering.
And that's all :)
Here goes my plant today:

Your a master of the DWC micro grow. Would love to see you let loose on a larger canvas. Laters

Maybe one day, bro :) Just i have enough of medicine from this box for nuw, more would be a life-killer for me :D Alsto all that is still illegal here...

and here is plant today, she's taking that defol very well and will be able to go in to flowering just in few days :)
