ok i got another question....i got my ph meter SALE! NEW HANNA HI98107 98107 PH METER TESTER CHECKER today along with pH Buffer/Calibration Solution Combination Kit 4 & 7 125... the solution is only 125ml bottles. so i calibrate the ph meter like it says too. then i take a gallon of water that has tiger bloom in it and ph it, well the reading was 5.2 so i take the solution 7.0 too ph up. well then after adding a couple drops i ph it again doesn't change nothing? so i keep doing the samee thing add a couple of drops shake ph. needless to say i end up using half of the bottle just too get it too ph 6.4 and now the water looks yellow just like the solution. am i doing this right or should i have another kind of solution? well it hurt my girls too use the water with it looking all yellow? my baby are still yellowing but the bud sites look good all the new leafs just went pale and crumbled up and die.so please can somebody help and tell me if im doing this right.

i think youre using calibration fluid as ph up/down. i think theyre very different though ive never tried adjusting with buffer/calibration.

the calibration fluid is just something with a set ph at 4 or 7 etc for checking accuracy of equipment against while ph up and down is concentrated acid or base to move the ph up or down instead.

i have no idea if it is ok to use that much depends whats in it really im gonna guess its fine.. maybe someone else will chime in.

bgrt is pretty much on the money, man. The buffer/calibration is for calibrating only. That does not act as ph up and down, the only reason it rose a little is because you added so much it based the water out some. Do not use that, it would probably kill them. Sorry you wasted that much, but it doesn't take much to put in a shot glass to calibrate every now and then so if you have half the bottle you're ok. Like bgrt said they are liquid buffer set at those particular ph's so that you can test and calibrate. You need something entirely different. wow how could i be so dumb lol thanks

Everyone makes mistakes man. Everyone wasn't born with even the most basic chemistry knowledge, no worries. The actual stuff goes a long way. Less than a ml or so per gallon IF that much, sometimes just a few drops. It's all good though. :smokebuds:

yeah i already dump it out sometime i think i get too high:bong:then i go off and do something like this and know i do:o

i just went and order the right stuff now it just sucks cuz i cant fix my water and my plant is still yellowing

lol no worries, you could use lemon juice/vinegar for ph down and baking soda for up.. or similar for now, ive never used anything other than bottled stuff so i dunno which would be best

have you tested runoff?

There are other household things you could try in the meantime. First, calibrate your meter, read all the directions and make sure you do it right using your calibration solutions. Apple cider vinegar can be used for ph down and baking soda for up. Just be careful with the baking soda because it can kill beneficial bacteria in your soil, but I don't think you'll be needing the ph up. Now the vinegar doesn't work as well as the actual stuff and tends to drift over time, but it could help and get you by until the good stuff comes.
