I cant get a grasp on starting up an organic grow

I hope you meant 1/2 teaspoon of Epsom Salt which is still too much. I use 1g in a 10 Gallon reservoir, granted the soil will buffer it but how much?

Ps You are treating your water for chloramines or chlorine?

it was a .5 tablespoon... and i am trying to treat water for chloramines, and i thought it would help with chlorine... im a super newb to this...

So.. You've got "living soil".. It came to your door "alive" with bio-life.. That bio-life breaks down the organic matter (soil) and makes all of the needed nutrients available. *playing devil's advocate again*.. Why would you add more nutrients to a soil that you know has everything it needs.. Especially magnesium? You're job when using a "living" soil, is to keep it "alive". You need to be feeding the biology so that it stays alive and continues to make nutrients available.. That's where compost teas and products like recharge, come into play. That plant is showing signs of being under fed, because the soil is no longer alive, or as alive as it was a month ago. A good compost tea like once a week or so should solve that...
thanx, proph!!!

If there's an issue, it's a grower issue, not a soil issue. It's not lacking anything. Again, you just have to keep it alive..
i agree, once again thanx... i am the newb of the newbs, hence the thread title... proph you have been more than helpful... im just gonna use the teas

@purplestuff If you are on municipal water you should be able to get a copy of the "Water Quality" report online. If you could copy that information on Water Hardness and Sanitation here and let me look at it. We can then determine more precisely what you need.

its been this same report for 2 years now... ppm on meter 206... ph on meter 9.5... after i add ascorbate acid to 1/8 tsp to 5 gallons it brings my water 6.5-7.0
