Live Stoner Chat Hydro (and overall growing) newbie getting a little overwhelmed

Hey everyone! I've spent the last few hours reading fantastic posts on the forum, and thought I'd register to pick your brains a bit, and so whenever I get my first grow off the ground, I could share my progress with you all

So first off, I've never grown , so hydro was already looking a bit more daunting than soil. Then I found http://www.dealzer.com/hydro-systems.html , and I figured I might give one of these boxes a go ( I don't have the tools or the know-how to build my own yet, and space is a limiting factor). By any chance, have any of you tried any of these boxes? If so, what are your experiences with them? I'm specifically looking at the "grandma's secret garden" or cheaper. I realize they are probably crappy hydro set ups, but this is just to get my feet wet.

Next comes a question that seems to spark some heated discussion whenever it's asked, but what are good Hydro nutes? I've been trying to read various forums on the topic, but for a first timer, it's quite an overwhelming dump of info, and I can't even begin to process everything. Maybe just a general recommendation of affordable nutes to get used to everything ?

Welcome to the family KnoNo2 :smokebuds:i use Advanced nutrients and your right trying to decide on nutes is a lot of leg work but i must point you to more reading i added a link AFN Live cannabis Fert Testing & Reviews

stop by and take a look , i can tell you that i have seen some big time growers here on the site use GH with good results and that would be my recommendation, and i use hempy buckets ,i to am a new grower and i build my first DWC system ,it was a lot of fun, when i master growing i will be going back to bubble buckets for sure i'l go and find you the rwrite up on hempy so you can see just how easy it is.

Try the ionic line with added voodo juice .. Used them my 1st grow 5 years ago and always happy with results 1st ever lady gave my 7 o's of knockout smoke .

Those Hempy buckets look pretty interesting to try. Unfortunately, that still leaves the question of a grow box though :/. With my current living situation, I don't have a closet i can use, and due to a temporary roommate ( hopefully this dude is only here a few months, so i can turn his room into a grow room :X's Evil Laugh x: ), stealth is a must. Thats why the boxes on that site seemed so appealing. Pre-assembled, lockable, inconspicuous, odor control, etc etc. http://www.mrgrowpro.net/ , LED model ( soil or Hydro), is also an appealing option for me. Sooo many choices! Any recommendations given my circumstantial needs?

Thanks for the warm welcome everyone!

Thanks to lots of overtime opportunities with my job, I should be able to start piecing my grow together within the next week or so . Can't wait to share my progress with the lot of ya! One downside though... I won't be able to provide taste reports due to my job, it's been 4 years since I've been able to enjoy the gooey green. I'm gonna be growing for my fiancée, since she has some bad back issues, and aside from stuff like morphine, nothing else seems to help her pain. Hopefully I can convince her to do taste reports for me though.

Another question (non hydro related though)... When it comes to making cannabutter for edibles, if I used a strain like AutoBlueberry, would that signature taste and smell transfer to the butter? I'm kinda doubting it, but a guy can hope
