i agree with mr ns and ghabi, a little nute burn. there is a sweet spot between to little and to much, i like to see alittle tip burn, but not as far as leaf curl! :2cents: for big girls you have to pound the nutes to them, and take the risk:buds:btw.... ghabi that is quite the licking stick you have there! good work! +rep.

hugo you get slapped for that bush next to the chair! it is a amazon!:amazon::hump: i would sure like to spend some quality time with her!

Let's talk PH, Gurus..

@ghabi

Right! :) so you'll see there's nothing to it really. If the run-off is way bellow your intake pH then you might want to use a more neutral base line like 7.0 for your feedings. Also, if you don't easily get dolomite lime or limestone powder like me then you'll definitely benefit from flushing with pH'd water at 8,5. Just to get the levels above 6. Then you're home safe  for feeding.

O.k., Master Hugo, et all. So I got my mind set on this Ph stuff and I have decided I need to figure it out. What had set out to be a purely fun exercise has turned into a mind fuck, and I'm up for the challenge (with the help of freshly cut NLH gems :hump:).

Help, all you gurus out there, you know who you are..

Got a PH meter finally, arrived without the calibration fluid supposed to come with it, so I'm using it as it came out of the box until I get the fluid by mail. Tap water, after sitting for 24 hrs. comes in at a cool 7.2. Once I add in anything; nutes, enzymes, kelp, etc., I go down to 6.2 or around that, I add a few ml. of PH up and get it to 9.6. Great, right..? it goes in at 9.6, but the runoff reads 5.3. I've been using this PH up stuff and giving mix at 9+ for the last couple of weeks, to no improvement..?!!

Mind you, this is premium bag soil, PH balanced at 6.5 out of the bag. You know the Grow More nutes and supps I use, the water is good..., what the hell is the deal..?! to add insult to injury, not all pots are suffering the same; the White Widow, for instance, has kept a steady 6.2-6.4 range throughout, which may explain why it's doing so well. How so, when all variables are the same..?

Want more insult to that injury, some pots measure differently on different sides. Poking in the soil probe on one side reads 5, while on the opposite side it reads 4..!?

So, in need of your collective wisdom here, Hugo and Company. I have a beautiful NLH bush to experiment with (to death), as you may direct. I'm hoping to learn something about PH to plan next harvest accordingly. Otherwise, it's semi-guerilla again next season.. ;)

target ph is about 5.6 to 6.5 that meens 9.6 is of the charts

Thanks for the reply, GA. I understand that 9.6 is off the charts for the medium (soil in pot), but that's how high my liquid going in is at, in order to raise the medium's (level 4) PH. I'm simply trying to get the 6 point range. I'm even thinking of raising my water a little more than the 9.6, no..??

I'm not sure what pH meter you bought however do not trust anything that "pokes into the soil". You need to measure runoff pH.

I also agree with Ghabi MrNice :) I think I used the PK formula a little too early, so now she's on water diet for a few days until I see improvement and then I'll restart pH perfect AN and humics. I'll save the PK formula for later. Fingers crossed guys and thanks!

I've chopped down my aBB and the MR :) 300g of buds, stems and trims. It will probably give between 100 and 150g of dried goods.

I wouldn't go above 10 my friend. Higher than those ranges the water starts to be too strong for roots. Mind that the pH doesn't stay at those levels for much longer then just a few seconds after it contacts with lower pH soil, but the first impact could hurt the roots.

What happened when you flushed her? Didn't change even when you were flushing?

I'd grind down some egg shells and feed it to the soil. It will take a while to rise the soil pH but it will work. How much time do you have left? 1 month?

why are you ph up-ing from 6.2? Thats just about ideal... if your watering with 9+ ph you will turn your plants hermi for sure...

what is your soil mix? I think your PH probe is not at all working.. Do you have a simple water ph kit? they sell them everywhere for pools? a quality Ph meter is required to measure reliably... but watering with 9+ ph is a NO NO...
