New Grower Hugo's Backyard!

Look who just popped out! My little Think Different was born! I've been very eager to try out this strain, because of all the positive reviews everyone as had. Now that I'm a bit more experienced with autos I'm setting my bar up high as far as this strain goes.

I'm expecting a strong growth pattern and I'm giving her the best environment I can, with plenty of sunshine, a 30L pot and the best nutes out there.

I'm also opening a new thread as I now consider to be a more mature grower, or at least not a new grower :D

Ok--Astro, but who is the Mom, ya know, Hugo's wife is not going to be pleased about this. And what about vacation. In Maine one is always on vacation ;). Now where did you go and where the heck are the photos of the fish or the pretty things:cool:.

Congrats on the new born. I'm impressed with the TD so far, although I have a feeling yours will be more impressive. the AF experience so far has been....., well, intense. The Nirvana Bubblelicious smells delicious, but remaining small. The TD is off to a great start, will post some photos tomorrow.

In follow up to the previous post (sorry about the delay, you will see why in a follow up post ;) )

Since last update, a few things have been happening, mostly good stuff. First off, here is the TD, out of the soil on 19/07 and started flowering on 08/08..

As compared to the earlier Nirvana Bubblelicious, it seems I'm getting the AF dialed in, well mostly. If you look at the Bubblelicious, which was my first AF attempt (along with Sweet's Black Jack, which was off to a rocky start), you will notice my struggle with the nutes..

View attachment 119128View attachment 119129

My trouble with the AF so far has been on size (and thus yield) as I get a single short cola, and that's it. The smell on both has been heavenly..

Since then, I have popped four new AF beans, as follows..

Sweet Seeds Black Jack
GHS Auto Bomb
PS Pandora
RQS Royal haze

They all went into the soil on 21/08 and all four had pooped up within 36 hours..

The above are pics on first day of germination. They have since come along nicely as they went out for some indirect sun and fresh air at the age of 48 hours. Here they are on Day 2..

View attachment 119133View attachment 119134

They've come along even more in the last couple of days, but have not had a chance to take some new pics. You will see why from the next post.. :D

Now, to the fruitful stuff..

The semi-guerilla grow update. What seemed like a far-away dream is actually materializing, and fall colors are starting to usher in harvest season. First off, here is a look at the ladies as of a week ago..

The NLH, porn preview, Hugo style (you'll know later why it's only a preview)

If you zoom in, you'll see the explosion of white dust (gold, for me) covering the flowers and the sugar leaves. Wish I was better at photography, but I'm sure you will be forgiving, considering the bounty. The buds are thick, heavy and glistening with heavenly dust.. ;)

Next up is the JF#5

As you can see, the JF5 has been fatening up nicely. It's very interesting that a couple of the branches have trunks as big as the main trunk and are growing like dominant colas in their own right. You can see shots of the one on the lower right. I'll take it..
Finally, the Big Bud. What can I say about this one..??
Well, it's definetly living up to its namesake. Although my least favorite (I only went for yield here), it's shaping up to be the most rewarding quantity wise. It's simply a thick bush that has colas popping up from everywhere.

Now, if it only smokes as good as it looks.

Mind you, with my poor photography skills, the pictures do not do them justice. Seeing and touching-feeling is something else altogether..

The next post is true porn, as only Hugo can appreciate.

Stay tuned, need a toke.. :toke:

Finally, and on to the best part.. :howdy:

This is in appreciation of Hugo and a tribute to him..

Goes something like this; went up the hill to check on the semi-guerilla grow a couple of days ago, and here's what I found the NLH doing..

That, in addition to the photos in the previous post. At that point (19 August), I decided to snip off a couple of low branches to check things out. A couple of days later, and following a quick dry, things looked..., WOW! Trichs, under 60X, where about 50% clear, 40% milky, and 10% amber. The effect, even the pre-cured taste, was just awesome, awesome. So, my dear friend, here is to you..

So, you get the idea..? the NLH has come home, and what a sweet home coming it was..

View attachment 119185View attachment 119166View attachment 119167View attachment 119168View attachment 119172View attachment 119173

Needless to say, was up 'til early morning doing basic trim, it was better than spending the night with a harem.

Oops, just when I thought I was done, I had forgotten a whole bag of small buds (small being in the 5-7 gram range). Here is the whole bounty..

View attachment 119174

All in all, I walked away with what felt like 650-700 grams total weight (stems, leaves, and all). After the first round of trimming, most of the stems and all the fan leaves came off and I ended up with about 500+ grams of wet bud, but what bud..!! my whole house (although was in a remote area of it, on the opposite end) smelled like fresh, ripe mango. It's now drying for the last 18 hours, and I'm sweating the next few days as I don't want to screw up a wonderful thing with the dry/cure. I can't believe it, so many buds, thick and dense and, best of all, NLH.

Let's parrrrrrrty, I just wish I could share a toke with you all.. :smokebuds:

The JF5, which is looking majestic, is due to come down in 18-21 days (unless ya'll see otherwise), followed two weeks later by the Big Bud. In between, I should be taking down the patio NLH (around the 15-20th of Sept.), which is looking like this now..

View attachment 119186View attachment 119187View attachment 119188View attachment 119189

Almost a half-year worth of toil, sweat, (sometimes) worry, and lots of hope, is finally coming to pay off. Handling the NLH and the JF5 at the harvest stage is like striking gold or oil, only better. As I said, my only regret is not being able to pass the toke over to you all. I figured I get you as close to it as I could, the least I could do to pay back all the good folks on this site, and especially Hugo's thread.

Peace to one and all

:peace:
