Week: 2 - Day: 8

The last few days i was very busy preparing the new home for the seedling. Let me show you what i was up to over the weekend.
First of all i had to prepare the growing substrates for use by washing and then conditioning for 2 or 3 days.

Here is the Hydrocorn clay pebbles after being washed and now getting conditioned in a solution of Advanced Nutrients Sensi Grow and CANNA Rhizotonic.

And for the Grodan Rockwool cubes i gave the exact same treatment as the Hydrocorn clay pebbles.

After a couple of days soaking, both the Rockwool cubes and the Clay pebbles are ready for use.
So i lined the lid of the electric propagator with the clay pebbles.

The seedling is now ready to be transplanted into the Rockwool cube and then onto the clay pebbles base.

Thanks Kudo
That sounds alike a great idea man im sure i wont miss over on your thread.

I see what u meant about the clay. Weird... might be a bottom of the barrel batch. Looked it up.. LECA is traditionally heated in a rotating kiln giving it the round shape.

Edit... just looked up the brand... I quote
The 8-16 mm size provides stability and the unique uneven shape of the pebble is an ideal surface for roots and beneficial bacteria. The porous structure has a high water capacity and is suitable for both ebb/flood and top irrigation systems.

Seems it's intended and more beneficial overall.. Makes sense.

Hi Jayar
Thanks for all your help dude. Yes i was aware that the different sizes and structure of each pebble is more beneficial but was just inquiring about yours.
Cheers dude.

Week: 2 - Day: 14

Hello AFN

Im very sorry for the lack of updates recently and the neglect of the site and friends journals.
I encountered more problems before transplanting the last seedling to the DWC bucket so before i continued with this journal i wanted to make sure everything was perfect.

The last seedling has now been trashed and thus it was time to start with a clean slate.
In general i was being very silly taking care of this seedling but after a little practice i have got everything right back on track.
So here is an update of what has been done so far:

Seedling ready to be transplanted from root riot to rockwool:

Damn bro sorry to hear about your hassles, well looks like they are long in the past now and you are off and running on the path of a monster in that bucket. She is looking super happy and healthy, dont think she could have got off to a much better start and now once she starts to suck away on those nutes its only gonna get better from here ;)
