Good to have you along my friend. How have you been man? Thanks for the sub.
Can't wait to see how this one turns out bro :peace:
Cheers Pal i had a little bit of a mess up with the root riot cubes but i have learned my lesson and it shouldnt happen again.

Week: 1 - Day: 1

I had a little bit of what you could call a noob mistake( seeing as this is my first single DWC grow). Last time i started these seeds i failed to keep the root riot cubes moist enough and allowed them to dry out too much. Too much so that the root riot cubes compacted so densely that the tiny roots of the seedling couldnt make it through to the bottom of the cube. Now with that valuable lesson learned i hope there is no more miss-happenings and lets see what these seedling can do.

To stop the cubes from compacting this time round i have been misting them twice daily, once in the morning and once in the evening just before i go to bed. Details of the solution for misting and the seeds environment are below if anyone is interested.

Nutrient Solution:
  • PH: 5.8
  • EC: 0.3 ( Back-round EC)
  • Temp: 22 C

Environment:

  • Lights On: 25-26 C
  • Lights OFF: 21-22 C
  • RH%: 50-60%

Sad to hear you ran into problems, it's always a steep learning curve when trying something for the first time.

Glad you have it all sorted now, excited to see what this amazing setup can do!

Week: 1 - Day: 3

Looking into the the grow tent this morning and I was surprised to see tiny roots of this very young seedling.
With the first run i did i earlier and failed, the seedling didn't even have any roots at day 7.
I'm very impressed with the speed and determination of this seedling, i really cant wait to get them into the buckets in about a week and a half's time.

Currently misting the seedling twice a day as the root riot cubes tend to dry out a little faster with the good weather.

Nutrient Solution:
  • PH: 5.8
  • EC: 0.3 ( Back-round EC)
  • Temp: 20 C

Environment:

  • Lights On: 25-26 C
  • Lights OFF: 22-23 C
  • RH%: 50-60%

My new Air pump and air diffuser arrived yesterday and I just wanted to show you how it works.
I ended up buying a Hiblow XP 80 which from my research is one of the best and most expensive air pumps on the market in the U.K. and Ireland. In total it cost just over 400 euro including the two diffusers.
Why spend this much money you ask?.... That ridiculous you say!....

Well here is why it cost so much money and why i bought it:
First of all if you didnt get it from the pumps title this thing produces 80 litres of air per min into the res.
She runs at about 60w in total so not to bad for all the extra oxygen in the water.
The size of this air pump is about the same as holding a small puppy and it looks a lot heavier than it is.
The last great thing about this is for all the power and quality she is virtually silent, barely makes a noise.
You could have it going in the quietest library and still no one would ever hear it.
The only noise you hear from this is actually from the air braking the water.

So here is the pump beside a 6 1/2 inch net pot:

And my 220m long diffuser right beside a normal DWC air stone:

I made a little video to see the pump in action.

Il be back with an update in the next day or two, I will be transplanting the seedling into a rockwool cube.
