I've got 6 White Widow Autos in my 3x3' tent.
I grew 4 autoflowers last grow of a different variety in a smaller space 2.5x2.5' and a different light.
It got a bit crowded but it worked.
I'm wondering if I'll get more yield giving them more space?
They are autoflowers so I'm thinking they will stay relatively small but I've never grown White Widows.

White Widow can get pretty big so six plants in that small tent is going to be crowded. You should get better yields if you give them more space so they receive more light.

I'm thinking of getting rid of a couple as soon as they start touching or sooner?

If you give them more space next time I would give them larger pots too. I would grow 4 plants in a 3X3. Should be able to grow some good size plants in that. I like to give each plant a 2X2 space. You have the 400W sun system or the 250?

It's an LEC light. Sun System 315W. It's very bright.

I probably like to run larger pots than most, I like organics and it is easer for me. I would run 5 gallon pots in that space. I like to run the largest pots I can in the space I have.

I got a 4x2 tent so one less square foot than you and I ran 4 in there. Got way to crowded and had to pull one early to make room. 4 would ba great number for you though.

I suggest you spin your own estimates based on your own realistic expectations for crop productivity (yield/area). Unless you are at expert level, it may likely work out that your best option is to crowd them some (by many growers' standards, such as keep them like in the picture). The results may not be as pretty (a jungle), the plants each may not be as big, etc., but using as much as possible of your limited area for foliage, rather than empty space separating plants, may be your best option.

Last harvest, I got about 24 ounces/700 grams from 8 plants, average of about 3 oz./ plant, with 3 plants over 1/4-lb., jammed-in a 12.5 sq. ft. tent (positioned as 2 x 4, as in your picture) or 1.5 sq. ft. area for each plant (using 900w LED, 5 gal. airpots (look same size a what you're using), coco/perlite, manual DTW, Advanced Nutrients full line). This averages about 2 oz./square foot with 1.5 sq. ft./plant. In your 9 sq. ft. tent, that means 6 plants (probably arranged as in the picture), with a yield of about 18 oz. (at the rate I got).

If you grow 4 plants, to get to the same 18 oz. you need to get 4.5 oz./plant, which I presume is hard to reliably attain for all but the real experts/pros. With more plants jammed together, you get more variety by growing more plants, and you always have options of culling or moving out any slow-growing plants.

Or another option is to grow say 4 known very high yield (e.g., AutoUltimate), XXL, superauto, etc. plants, but also consider that these may take longer.

2oz/sq.ft is the high end in a small space. I'd say realistic is 1oz/sq.ft.. In small spaces I believe that 3 gallon pots should be max. I got 1oz/sq.ft. growing organic in 2 gallon pots in a 2.5'x2.5'x6' tent with 345 watts of LED . WW may well work in 2 gallon pots to grow 6 plants.
