Indoor How many autos should i grow in a 4x8 tent?

sup guys. i will be growing in a 4x8 tent and will be growing under 2x 600watt Hps. The seeds i have are Afghan kush ryder, vertigo, and critical jack. Im thinking 18 plants total in 5 gallon pots. what to do you guys think? more or less? thanks in advance.

18 plants would be about right with those strains they all get big for autos and will need some room to grow...

Wow, 18 would be to many if you are going to do them in 5gal buckets. I currently have 20 autos in 5gal buckets, 10x10x8 room under 4 600watt Xxxl hoods and they are more than crammed in there. Do you have Xxxl hoods? Honestly, if you do them right in 5gal buckets, you would get the best results with 8-10 plants. 5gal buckets make for massive autos and they need the room.plus watering becomes an issue, It take me over 3hours to move everything and water because it's so tight

I think you'll have plenty of space for 18 plants. I'm growing 10 total in a 4x4 space. Not sure if you will have enough light to cover the whole area though. That's less then 20 watts per square ft. I've heard that for HPS you want about 60 watts per sq ft.

I wouldn't put more than about 8-10 plants in there, especially in 5 gallon pots. They will probably need around 2 sq. ft. per plant once they hit full flowering. IMO 5 gallon are a bit of overkill for most dwarf strains. Three gallon are usually sufficient.

3 DWC TDs were way too much for my 4x2, your tent is 4 times the size, I wouldnt hope for six times more plants in such a space. I would be looking at 10-12 based on my experience of growing large autos. If you really want to grow 18-20 plants then I would consider using something like a 6 or 10 litre airpot which will grow a plant that can yield 2-3 ounces without the plant becoming too large to handle easily. Also perhaps consider using 3 x 600w HPS or a light mover for your two lights as if you plan to fill the tent completely then I think a 600 watter will struggle to adequately light all of a 4x4 space and you could lose some yield.
