Grow Mediums How do you water YOUR coco

pretty smaal pots here :) 5 L. now my babies are 45 days old. so i water everyday for hand. checking by lifting the pot and feel on weight ;) always letting them dry out before next runthru :D nice thread Dex mate :)

as you are saying, it doesnt seem to be any right or wrong way :smokebuds:

Nice thread Dex!! :)

Well ... I water by hand every day. I make up my batches of feed in a 5 litre water bottle.
I use Canna Coco A&B, add the A first and shake shake shake - and the B and again i shake shake shake (it's actually my exercise routine as well as my plant feed) and then i carefully PH and add a lot more shaking.

I've only got one plant - she's quite big now with approximately 3 weeks left, so I'm currently giving her 1.5 litres. I check the PH every time, becuase over a few days it will creep up a point or 2.

I absolutely agree with not letting her dry out ... but last week my girl didn't drink enough and this made me mad. She got punished with no supper that day and ever since, she's been drinking like a good girl.

I'd say fair but firm! ^_^ lol

It takes me about 3 minutes to totally water her as i'll water slowly and make sure every bit of the pot gets an equal share .. even the corners :) then i'll sit and stare at her for 10 minutes, taking the odd dead leaf away from the bottom.

Pot size is about 10 or 11 litres (square plastic pot - i've gone back to them after trying airpots)

Cheers for the reply Blue may be the next time do 2 plants in the 2 different pots to see if you notice any difference :peace:

I really got to read up on all this stuff guys. :bong:

Yeh , read up and lock away your sissors , lmfao , sorry bud but you had me in stiches this morning mate :peace:

Read read read, grow grow grow, smoke smoke smoke....then write what you know and someone new starts to read read read.....

Hahaha just quality mate :peace:

Canna AB'er here as well. And 5 liters :D
Shake shake and inject A, stir, then B, stir. After that pH is 5,5-6. Then I pour it through coco and daily take out old and inject new feed from hempy hole. It was a bit of work when I had 16 plants ;) Water through the coco when it is dry enough, meaning every 2-3 days.

Way to much work for me there omni , cheers for your comments bro :peace:

The only thing you will need to watch for Roy is when they go into full flower you might have to feed twice a day because of the small pots mate but all good buddie :peace:

Thanks for all the responces keep them comeing it all helps :peace:

Drain to waste, water by hand. 2g Dirt pots from hydrofarm get about 500ml of nutes, wait 30 minutes, 500ml of nutes. That usually gets me a fair amount of runoff but doesn't waste nutes. I do that at least once a day, twice or more in flower. With seedlings I go easy, basically just keep the media moist...they need some dryness to grow heavy duty roots.

Cheers for the reply L & S nice one , ive been doing a lot of reading on this and went back and spoke to few of my mates about there coco grows that i know , they grow commercialy and they all do it slighty differently but ALL with good results , so far ive noticed its fine to leave a few days pot size dependant or everyday so at least for new growers seeing this there minds will be put at rest as far as watering is concerned

Just dont let them dry out , happy days so far cheers again mukka :smokebuds::peace:

I've notice people(myself included) having problems watering coco its self. I mean the physical act of pouring water into the pot. Coco never really packs down and if you water one area to fast you can run a hole damn near to the bottom of the pot. I have found a thin layer of gravel on the surface of the coco makes for much better water distribution to the entire pot. Aquarium gravel, marbles, river stones.....etc. This really helps stop "watering erosion".

Agreed Romeo but its not my style of growing but i would recommend it , even a layer of clayballs so when the feed hits the balls theres no displacement of the coco a few of the guys here at AFN do this with as you said gravel ect and many with pebbles theres plenty hard mediums you could use

A wee note : if you dont use any of the above like me just feed as normal wait a few mins and with your open hand gently put the coco back to the correct place ie just flatten it back with your hand , lol , works for me

Cheers for the comments Romeo :smokebuds::peace:

Clayballs float and fuck with your Ph over time.

I didn't know the damn things floated till the first time I tried to clean them. I filled a five gallon bucket with clay balls and dumped in water to watch them float their way right over the top and spill everywhere. Another one of those things they don't tell you.
