How do you maintain your humidity? Any humidifier recommendations?

I did not know this! Using tap would be so much easier/cost efficient. Guess I'm switching to evaporative at some point.
Sul, I tried your method yesterday and the humidity is still low. Gonna take your advice and buy a humidifier. Thank you!

take Note that Mingus & I are BOTH going to upgrade to an evaporate humidifier. That white powder that is produced by ultrasonic humidifier sucks. I didn’t know this.

Yeah man wish I knew about the white powder. I use one in the grow space and my gf had one running in the apartment, it took us a while to work out where this dust was coming from... boy it was everywhere. Evaporative would be a great upgrade

The evaporative units don't humidify as well. Just something to keep in mind. I have mine controlled with an inkbird power strip. The simple units with just an on/off knob are what you want. A controller is definitely necessary. Leaving it running constantly will over do the space

An ultrasonic can make the walls drip. An evaporative cannot. Bit of a failsafe built in

Glad I could offer some useful advice.

Yes - very difficult to locate non-digital. Almost all humidifiers (of any type) reset to default after power loss so cannot be used with a controller. You just have to trust the humidistat on the unit, which is always a shaky proposition.

Here is what I ordered. It's not a true top-fill but close enough.
Amazon.com: Pure Enrichment MistAire Eva - Mist-Free Evaporative Humidifier (2.8L) with Antimicrobial Filter, 4-Speeds, Large Room Coverage up to 500 sq. ft., and Auto Shut-Off Timer : Home & Kitchen

Evaporative coolers (even with their inefficiency compared to ultrasonic) were the obvious solution to the problem. Right in front of my face but didn't see the connection. Maybe it's this AvT I've been smoking. :haha:
can you give me a report after you get it? I sure hope this is our solution.
