I know lots of folks have offered an option or opinion so here's mine!
Get one of these: https://www.mouser.com/ProductDetail/MEAN-WELL/HLG-240H-C2100A?qs=EaAZLd8vSkiV414H0oHfDA==

Get two of these: https://horticulturelightinggroup.c.../products/qb288-v2-rspec-slate-2-single-combo
or one of the double fixtures.

With some wire, connectors and cord you can put together a total killer light for just shy of $300.00 and it will last a long time too. This is the real deal, 240 real watts, Samsung LEDs with a touch of red and blue in there. I'll be happy to help you build them too.

Here's a light I recently built. Supplements red, far red, blue and green there's UV T5s on there too but they're for flower time.
Plants eye view!

The black heat sinks are the ones that I built and just described, QB288, etc.

Holy shit that's a great idea and deal! I'm pretty handy with electrical so that sounds like a great option.

No kidding, right!
I think we just had a rep from that manufacturer on site too.

is it really as easy as I'm thinking? it almost seems like you just connect the boards to that ballast/power block and mount it on top and some hangars. I wouldn't even need to solder anything

You might also consider AutoCOBs, with these having a good reputation, many users, and the manufacturer represented here on AFN (and likely an AFN discount available). I and many others use 1 AutoCOB per plant.
