Your design looks sound to me - you can calculate how much the res needs to be - done a basic for you below
volume = length*width*height*
I have assumed the table is 80cm by 80cm and 3 cm depth for flooding - you can adjust according to the actual specs
Length=0.8m
Width=0.8 m
Height= 3 cm = .3m
So volume= 0.8*0.8*0.3
=0.192 3
Now: 1 3 = 1000 liter
So 0.192 3 = 19.2 liters required for the flood phase at least, so 30 would make sense if using the numbers in this example
