Hello guys new to this site and growing. I’m growing in coco.. 5 gallon pots (I now understand that’s to big for a coco grow) Plants have been stunted because of temperature fluctuations I believe and I’m 5/6 weeks in and I don’t feel there big enough 14inches tall and just started to show pistils, my main question is I have notice some leaves have maybe deficiencies can anyone tell me what these mite be? Thanks

Why your there though, what do you recon on plant hight and pot size for coco

Well I have only done a few grows but to me that looks like a possible Magnesium deficiency, the experts here may be able to confirm. Are you using Cal-Mag in your nutrients? And 5 gal pots aren't too big, I have seen people use coco in 50 gal pots. But pot size usually determines the size of the plant you will get. I have heard some say one gallon per one foot but I think that is subjective. I usually get like 4 ft plants out of my 5 gallon pots with coco but it definitely depends on the strain. Happy growing! :smoking:

I’m using the full canna range a&b ect so was on the understanding I don’t need need a cal mag supplement..? Though I could be wrong. I have read that but then other people say a smaller pot for coco is better for being able to get sufficient runoff ect (I would imagine it would be quite hard to water a seedling in a large pot like 50 gallon but then I don’t know much only what I have read in the recent weeks, I thought this was going to be so much easier than it is :sadcry::dang:

Thank mate!! I got a lot more questions but I will il go though them one at a time haha, been on a few other sites asking questions but is I’m growing autos I think this is the place to be :cools:

best canna site on the web right here, period :shooty: and sorry, but me a soil grower & not coco qualified  ppp

Yeah I just bought my first brick of Coco a couple of days ago and I'm running dry amendment nutes, what nutes are you using? Have you checked the pH of your Coco? I would start by checking to make sure that your pH is in check, but also Coco requires lots of cal/mag

Yea as far as I know you definitely need a cal-mag supplement with coco. I use the Botanicare Cal Mag Plus 2ml/gal through out the grow. I pre-buffer my coco with cal mag as well so I usually don't worry about run off until they get a bit established. As far as I know run off prevents salt build up from nutrients and I usually don't start nutrients until they are about a week old. But technically yes you need more water for the larger pot you use as well. And all the super big pots like that I saw were on large scale outdoor grows so. :confused1: A good place I started is cocoforcannabis.com maybe it will help u
