Hello there, I would like your opinion on a grow cabinet I want to build.
I’m designing a small cabinet of the following dimensions 1’ x 2’ x 2’ for a total of 4 cubic ft of growing space with 60W worth of light (led bulbs)
Temperatures are quite cold during the night between 40°F and 50 °F, so I would turn the lights during the night so they can heat the space.
According to the electrical heat dissipation formula (CFM = 3.16*Watt/Temp difference in °F), I would need around 5 CFM to keep the temperature in the desired range of 70°F – 85°F.
A 40 or 60 mm PC fan is what I believe best for this air flow, but the problem is that I want to attach a carbon filter (A MUST), so what exhaust fan would you suggest.

I don't know fans well enough to have a recommendation on one of those, but here's one other idea just to float it out there. When I made my drying box, the dude who's DIY I was following used one of the odor control, activated charcoal filters for a home furnace that he cut down and taped up (if you use duct tape for ventilation, it's not a hack :smoking:) to fit the opening for his PC fan style exhaust setup. They sell them at the local hardware store here for like ten or eleven bucks and depending on the size of your hole you could get multiple filters cut to fit from the one big one. Not as tried and true as something like the big Phresh filters or other four and six inch vent line filters, but something to think about. Good luck getting it sorted out!!! :jointman:
