Live Stoner Chat Help meeeeeee please

In my uni house for my first couple of grows I was using organic pH down to adjust my nutes to the appropriate level. The plain water pH at that house was 8.3....at this point I also had a reliable pH pen (sadly got stood on) however the problem persisted, I have for this grow stopped using the ph adjuster and although the plants appear to be suffering still, it isn't quite as bad as the previous grows?
I assumed that the pH down was causing some sort of problem, but it can't be all down to pH if I've stopped using it and there are still problems, all be it the problems are slightly better this time?
I'll drag up some pics of my old grows in a minute and then get some of the current plants when they wake up (excuse the older pics though, poor phone and under led so very purple haha)
Pics for this grow please. The pH down won’t cause a problem, but no pH pen or even worse — a poorly maintained one — will cause big problems. Gonna have to bite the bullet I’m afraid. No storing them on the floor! :crying:

I was gutted believe me, was a bluelabs one too so wasn't cheap!
Would ph drops do the job for the time being till I can afford a pen?

ph drops are inaccurate. and how many drops or how few? will do the job? without a pen, how can you tell how much to add?

I don't understand dude? I thought you just put a drop of the pH drops in a vial with a sample of your water and then matched it to your chart?

highly inaccurate, but I guess it's better then nothing. . I misunderstood what you were writing, I thought you were adding ph down to your feed without checking it after.
I tried those little kits ten years ago totally inaccurate. what about cal/mag?

No worries man, is biobizz algamic not calmag? I was told it was similar....

Yah, a good ph pen is better, but these are absolutely better than nothing. More than a few experienced growers use these and nothing else. I’ve used these a couple times myself as a triple check.

A simple google search reveals Biobizz Algamic contains neither cal, nor mag.
