Problem: just found bud rot on one stubby plant in tent. It was on multiple spots on the plant so I removed from tent and trashed it. I have 3 other plants with no visible sign of mold after a thorough inspection with a loupe. Today is day 69 from sprout. I’m guessing most of them have 2 weeks to go, but I am considering harvesting early to avoid total loss in case it were to spread.

Medium/grow method: living soil

Feed: and supplements used: Buildasoil Build-a-Bloom and Build-a-flower.

water source: filtered and ph’d tap water.

Strain/age: Mephisto Super Orange Haze day 69

light used: Mars Hydro FC-3000

Climate: temps low 70’s-low 80’s, humidity high 40’s-high 50’s.

Additional info: I turned on external dehumidifier to keep humidity low.
Unfortunately I did not take a pic of the bud rot, but here is a pic of the rotten plant and the rest of the tent.

its heartbreaking when it happens and if you think it will spread sometimes its your only option and next time try getting better airflow

Hey thanks! Yeah total bummer. I’m toying with the idea of chopping the most mature plant to avoid total loss and then see what the other 2 remaining plants do over the next week.

As an organic grower I try an avoid it at all costs. But I have a bottle of General Hydroponics Exile for occasions such as this. I've used it on 3 plants, and it works like a charm. Just remember to rinse the plants at least twice, a week before harvest with plain PH water to remove any residuals.

Keeping your RH under 45 throughout flower helps avoid this issue entirely.

Good luck with your future harvest.

What’s best way to disinfect my tent for botrytis? H202, bleach, isopropyl alcohol?

I would spray a 10% bleach and let it dry. The thing is it is in the air everywhere. So if you keep the conditions in check you should be okay.

Oh man - I feel for you! In my humble opinion - increase ventilation and general airflow to a high but acceptable level, keep a good eye on them, and this sucks - but worth spreading open the odd bud to see if it is closer to the stalk and if so I would salvage what you can age a serious clean up and start again. Hope fully airflow and one less plant in there will see you to the end. Good luck
