Live Stoner Chat Hello, lurker newbie that has Mephisto Gen Sour C otw.

http://www.ebay.com/itm/221461932701 - this is the 2pc from MarsHydro

http://www.ebay.com/itm/2PC-300w-IR...335?pt=LH_DefaultDomain_0&hash=item2c888160d7 - and this is the GalaxyHydro version.

Price is basically the same. 2 differences I noted were that Mars offers a 1year warranty, and the Galaxy offers 2 years. Also Mars is 5w led's, whereas the Galaxy is 3w. So I'm concluding that Mars is more powerful since it can support more wattage? I will go with the MarsHydro as long as they get the stamp of approval from those experienced with their product.

Jack,

Give the GalaxyHydro units try. Here is what I learned about the MarsHydro units today. The MarsHydro 300w old model LED is a great little grow light for autos. I have 2 of them myself. From the Mars website they had a 2 yr warranty but they cost $100. On eBay the same light was $78 with a 1 yr warranty. They were 180 watts actual power. It seems MarsHydro was fighting a battle with a couple of other companies that were making knockoffs of this fixture. Maybe 3 weeks ago I noticed that Mars took the 300w old model off their website. This was about the same time I bought my second unit off eBay. By now the price had dropped to $67.00 shipped to my door. While my second fixture was in route to me all of the MarsHydro resellers on eBay switched to a different model of the mars 300w LED. The "new" 300w model is only 125-130 real watts and only has 1 cooling fan now. I was worried about what I was going to receive in the mail and luckily it was the 180 real watt version. On one of the other growing forums I have been told by a MarsHydro rep that the 300w "old model" has become their eBay price wars model and they made changes to be able to drop costs. So with that said give the Galaxy a go and let's see how they do for you.

I received an order from Mitch for Sour Crack and Deep Blue C's a few weeks ago. It took 7 days to get to me on the east coast. I used their regular 'free" shipping method and it was more than enough and would see no need for the "super stealth" method. I love the 10% AFN discount and the number of freebies they send is GREAT!

Cool bro good luck with the coco! If I can recommend something for ease-of-use.. I'm a lazy ass... advanced nutrients sensi coco... no need to ph  and from what I hear gen hydro is now owned by monsanto?! Screw em!
Idk about the lime and castings... I use coir straight with clay on top and bottom. I feed every time I water tho ecause coir itself has no food. And someone said cal mag... yes u will need it.

Haha! I read your journal about 2 weeks ago! You're the reason I am trying to find hydroton pellets to line both the top and bottom. I was reading about the sensi line, so I really don't need ph if I go that route? Right now I'm looking for a cheap 3x3x5 tent, will also look into Sensi nute's bc that's just one less thing to worry about.

Okay Bunz , I will try the Galaxies out. Just wondering if the 5w vs 3w diodes plays any part in output power?

Hey Jack welcome to the site, I'm using the 300w galaxy hydro unit and can't complain so far. A lot of great reviews on amazon too.

Cool, I'm glad to hear that it's doing well for you! They did have good reviews from what I read on Amazon. I typically steer clear of eBay, but they are selling 2pc 300w units on there for only 30 dollars more then what they're selling the single unit on Amazon for right now. Just need to find a decent 3x3x5 tent to squeeze into my budget so I can use both lights on 3 plants (unless someone thinks that's a bad idea).

If there is still a warranty on the ebay units then it's a no brainer really. Practically buy one get one free. If you wanna maximise the grow space then Lst is the way to go.

Cool lol. My first time trying the layering so cant personally say it works. But its recommended in the stickies in the coco section.. In case u haven't checked them out. I recommend reading truu's and blue's stickies at least. Some golden nugs of info in there.

I grow in a 3x3x5.5 perfect size for two or three plants. Unless u want smaller and more varitey, but I've grown 3 at once in 15l pots and they filled up the space nicely. Last grow I grew 2 in 1 gal smart pots... things were big they filled up the whole footprint lol.. so overall genetics are key when it comes to spacing out your plants.

Well this is the tent I am thinking about buying since its close to the price I was going to pay for the 2x2x4... what's everyone think? Will the 2 GalaxyHydro 300w led's support this foot print, and do you think three plants would fit comfortably? I'm thinking of also buying a trellis as well to scrog.

Would the 1 liter jugs of the Sensi be enough to last a 3 plant grow cycle? Sorry if this is a dumb question lol.

Well, no reason to spend money for drying, or not much anyway. Here's the cardboard box I used to dry in (I now use a dry rack), and the canning jars can be picked up at a garage sale, or thrift shop, or from Grandma for almost nothing.
