Dinafem Hello ! Germination Problem !

Update ! 24 hrs have passed .. and .. and .. and ...

I think its happening already !

There is a white bulge coming out from the germination end of the seed !

24 HRS MORE ! and hopefully its gonna be a nice tap root ready to go in to the pot !

Will update in 24 hrs, right now too scared to put any light or flash on it* ! I just carefully checked for water (its there! ) and seed progress by lifting the upper paper towel without touching the seed and gently covered it back and kept it the way it was ! hehe !

* Do let me know if you want me to snap current stage pic .. only if you say so, I will disturb it again !

Hey !

Update .. Nothing much is now happening .. shouldnt that white bulge turned into tap root by now ? .. seed was put in on wednessday at 6 pm .. now I think its nearly 36 hrs

Whats happening ... is the second seed going bust too ? Then I will be only left with one amnesia haze that I got with two white widows >.<

Next time just put it in growing medium and wait...

The first seed, we tried by putting it directly in growing medium .. didnt work.. thats why this second method as @Dinafem-Mark recommended .. also, no, the paper is just damp .. the seed is sitting on paper, not floating above it .. here, a few latest pics..

My Knowledge conundrum -
Many people germinate the seeds by putting them in glass of water ..with good success .. so yes, I have read about seed drowning , but the chances of such happening are very low .. plus in my case, there was only dampening water .. not drowning water.

Do you suggest scaring with hydrogen peroxide at this stage or just patience ?

Ive been rocking paper towels for several decades and have a tremendous germination rates....I think the the paper tower is too wet. I like the paper to be wet, but not soaked I find one of the key factors in getting a speedy germination is warmth. 85F will help with a speedy germination. in 85F i usually have a cracked shell and see the sprout in 24-36hours. I plant the sprouted seed once i see a 1/8"- 1/4" sprout.

Roger, based on above two suggestions, I have further reduced the water content on the towel. Now its just damp .. not wet .. also, within a day , that white bulge at the business end of the seed appeared .. but tap root is not coming out .. Now around 80 hrs have passed. What should be the next step ?

Errr .. well, OUCH .. that would be like 100% loss .. but .. still got one amnesia haze that came free with it ! .. still .. may be two days more for this one ... I guess .. .. my friend tried to germinate first seed for 10 days in soil, 4 days in paper towel before giving up on it ! I would be giving up too fast if I quit right now !! Plus it aint dead till @Dinafem-Mark says its dead !!
