New Grower HD Grower Journal ( 1st grow)

Plants look great HD, did you happen to measure the pH of your runoff when you flushed or do you check your soil pH? You are at the point where a some soil mediums start to go acidic

Another day of pulling my hair out..A bunch of shit going on here with my private life..Sorry to get side tracked

Sorry I posted a wrong day earlier in my grow..The gals showed their pretty heads on the 3rd of Feb.

Back to the grow and Day 28...After the flush on sunday the gals looked pretty good and happy, their also seem'd to like the home..The photo that I have seem'd a bit under the weather so I decided to check into the possible problem..I went to a new house of goodies about 50 mile from home to ask question and got some new tools that I should have had in the first place..But hey I'm a Newbee and not to bright at time..

PH tester for the soil
PH test strips for the water after the nutes..(I was only testing the waterfrom the tap.Thought the Fox Farm Guys couldn't steer me wrong..)
Cal/Mag
Stump Tea ( for use in a week or so)

Came home and water and feed the gals nutes and the cal/mag..I tested the Nute mix,It was about a PH of 6 (tap water is 6.5).So the nutes lowered the PH..Hmmmm Another problem I guess. But not a hard one..Then I tested the soil after one quart of nutes and a plain quart of water..Go ahead and shake your hear..Just the way I'm feeding the gals and seems to be working ok..Back to the test..6 inches in the soil the PH is 6.5 ,But a foot into the soil it is PH of 6.0... Now I really need help with this..Could this be a problem or should I just let it go..????Like I said the gals seem to me happy and not showing and signs of pain..That is the autos..The photos show some yellowing but I'm pretty sure the cal/mag and nutes will fix that..

Thanks:peace:

Hi HD,

Your purchases sound good, hope it was a good quality soil probe like an Accurate 8.

It is best to allow some time after watering before you test the soil pH.

Not surprised that your nutes lowered the pH of your water, most are acidic. You gave them the water with nutes first and then the plain water so not really surprising that lower down in your soil the pH would be lower. When mixing nutes I like to add the cal/mag first and then the rest of the nutes one at a time while mixing and then adjust pH based on what my soil is reading

Seems like giving the nute water followed up with plain water would leach the nutes from the upper few inches from the soil. I think the way you are watering will tend to concentrate the nutes in the bottom of the pots

Evening Oldster..

The PH probe is a Sunleaves digital. I hope its a quality probe,it was the one my semi-local shop carried. As for the way I'm watering. You think all the nutes wash to the bottom.Hmm..Makes since now that you say it..Maybe I should rethink that part..Thanks..Sometime I just need a slap..It has been only two days from my flush and I was surprised this evening after watering a half gallon of water there wasn't any leeching or just a few spots..The gals were thusty..

Thank:peace:

"Munch..munch..munchAloha HD~
I'm finally caught up, I've been stuffing my face and reading your grow journal as if I were watching the latest action adventure movie! I love new gear too and yours looks pretty sweet, plus the ladies get to spread out some.
I think they look great, and happy, and greeeeen! I'mma pull up a chair and ride-a-long!

wishing you mega-green-mojo!

Howdy Hapa and Thanks..

I must say I do enjoy this new hobby I've start'd. Besides it being a pretty nasty winter in my parts and I'm still recovering from surgery in Oct. Guess its keeping off the streets..I come to AFN and read the post and try to learn. As with most learning projects There seems to be many ways to skin a cat..Everyone seems to have a few tricks they use to get a head...A friend told me I jumb'd in with both feet, and Yes I've made a lot of poor moves along the way..But I'm happy to have all the gals I've started with, thats a plus in my mind..I'm not giving up even if my grow goes bad..The next should be better..Atleast I hope..LOL

Thanks:peace:

Its a Cruise control day

Well just checking in.Not much going on here..The gals are on cruise today, but I had to greet them this morning and fawndal them abit to show how much I love them..wink..

I have a few 13watt LED's here and was checking how I might be able to use them..The power cords are short so I need a cord to run them for sure.My T5 fixture has an outlet so I installed one one the end.Only two of the gals can see it( Snowryder's)..Next trip to town I'll get what I need to run the others..Figure it cant hurt..

About the only other thing is a friend found a bean in some goods. So he gave it to me.so guess what? Its in the Happy Frog..Wink-wink

Here is a Question? Out of the two Snowryders, one of then started showing flowers about a week ago.The other only have a few hairs showing..How or why would that be?

This it the one Snowryder taken today its 29 days old.. 3-4 gal.jpg3-4gal2.jpg

Thanks :peace:

Lovely pics, your girls look gorgeous :smoke:
Have a couple of questions, if you don't mind;
Have they stopped their veg growth and switched to flower mode ? How big are they currently ? And how awesome do they smell ? Mine has just started budding and she has this amazing sweet-citrusy smell to her.

Regarding your question, I'm gonna take a shot in the dark and say that even twins don't always hit puberty at the same time.

EDIT: Forgot to say congratulations for your grandson !
