HashyApache's Kind Green North

Good to see ya back !
Good to be back man! I haven't had plants going since June, and I've got to say.... I really missed playing around under the lights. Thanks for tuning back in my friend! Lots of updates to come!
Bloody hell mate . That is awesome . :yoinks: :clapper::clapper::clapper:
Thank you so much henco! Lots more donkey dick action where that came from! Cant wait to get the show on the road here!

So I said I was going to fill in the gaps from what I missed out on posting over the past few months, and I am going to be a man of my word damnit! Repeat after me, I WILL not get stoned and side tracked, I WILL not get stoned and sidetracked....
So since I last posted, two grows were completed. As you already know from my last posts in February, the first of those runs was really just a bit of a Pheno hunt, and genetic exploration in search of studly male pollen donors. Popped a few packs of Emerald Triangle Headlights Kush, a pack of Emerald Triangle Lemon Haze, and a couple packs of Emerald Triangle Blueberry Headband. The Lemon Hazes all sprouted happily and healthily, but other than some cool black foliage, the strain didnt really wow me, and I simply tossed most of them, and grew out the most interesting of the bunch. These plants seemed to grow more Kushy than hazy, and while some of the smoke was real nice, none of them had the specific traits I was looking for, so they were quickly retired.

The headlights Kush was a very interesting strain to grow. Some leaned NL heavy, others took after the OG Kush, but about 75% of them ended up being a claaaasssiiiiiccccc haze. I saved my absolute favorite male from the bunch ( a classic catpissy haze that flowers FAST), and a hand full of my favorite females (one of each phenotype) to be pollinated for possible genetic exploration down the line. All in all, having been grown, dried, cured, and smoked I can say that the catpissy haze phenotype was by far my favorite. Good height and open hazy structure, great flower production, extremely resinous, potent, and smells extremely delicious, like the perfect mix of Lemon Pledge and dank cat pee. It was everything I was looking for in this project.

As for the BBHB, well.... to make a long story short, some kind of fungus damped off and molded 3/4 of the BBHB seeds right off the rip (Whoops! Now I add a bit of H2o2 to ensure an uncontaminated germination process) and were reduced to trash. Out of that group of survivors, I selected one keeper that stuck out to me above the rest. It was a beautiful lady with classic Christmas tree structure, tight flowers, beeeeaauuuuutiful autumn colors, and a very pleasant stank to her that smells of blueberry muffins with hints of kushy fuel funk. I pulled her aside and impregnated her selectively with my best keeper HLK male to make a polyhybrid that I have been having an absolute blast playing with... One you're going to hear me talking about a lot in the future, Blulight.

Here was the mother of Blulight heeaaaaviiiiilllyyy impregnated.

I'll go through the rest of that run, and the one following soon to update you guys on what I've been up to, but my lunch break is coming to an end, and I have to get back to the hydro store.
Until we meet again my friends!

I like moms! But her daughter :woody:

Stunning hashy
Thank you so much dudeski! The girl's got sauce!!! After some careful selection I think I found exactly what I was looking for in the Blulight. I took that exact female you saw there, and crossed it with a large, vigorous sativa leaning male that stuuuunk of skunk in veg. Those seeds that came out of that cross were harvested, and a bunch of them have been sprouted in the past 2 weeks, and are currently being grown out for genetic selection..... Can't wait!

Oh yeah, but back to that blulight..... Her Sativa genes definitely showed through, growing a perfect Christmas tree shaped plant with looooong reaching side branches. Buds were large and weighty (to the point of it bending and flopping over completely for the last couple weeks of bloom), but definitely had some serious knuckly flowers, with a tiny bit of foxtailing. Some people would dislike that, and maybe it's something that I'll work on breeding out, but I just think that is her Haze genetic linage showing through. Doesn't bother me in the very least. The smell was to die for, reminds me tons of the DJ short Blueberry, but with a touch of headband funk, and that lemon pledge that tickles your nostrils, the taste is much of the same. A real sweet treat. The smoke is awesome for a wake and bake. Totally energizing and creative, clear headed, and doesn't make you feel outrageously spacey. Relaxing come down, but in no way sedating.
I think she had a couple things that could stand improvement in her F2 and F3 generation, but that will come with time and careful selection. Overall extremely pleased with how she came out.
Here are some close ups of her outside, grown on my deck, impregnated with her F2 generation about 5-7 days before harvest. Not bad for outdoors (ugh I cant believe I just said that. I LOVE outdoors!)

I maaaayyyyyy or may not have just purchased $800 of seeds from Mephisto today thanks to their latest promotion.... Sorry mom. I just couldn't say no to Artisanal Autos......
Especially excited about the Creme de la chem. Stardawg has been one of my favorite photoperiods for the past couple of years. Absolutely stupefying smoke. If the Creme de la Chem is anything like her parents, she is going to be a show stopper....

I just love a good sativa and a foxtail is just mire bud to smoke! Thanks for sharing your project.
No dudeski, thank YOU for tuning back in for the continuation of this great adventure! I think we all love a good Sativa, and if not... well.... then you're no friend of mine! :smoking: The foxtails dont bother me much, but they DO make trimming a bit of a pain, and they definitely do take away from the bag appeal once they are all dried up. It's just something I'd like to work on breeding out in future generations. But for now, I'm happy with it. She is a real nice smoke!

Thanks for taking the time with the updates .This breeding stuff is very interesting .
My pleasure man! I'm sorry that my regularity has been lacking quite a bit here, but I'll be sticking around, at least through the winter with updates regularly! The breeding stuff is just a little side project in search of the best Autoflowering breeding plants around, in hopes of making a line of F1 Fast Versions sometime down the line. I live at a pretty high latitude, so unfortunately many of my favorite photoperiod varieties do not finish on time, and it forces us overgrowers to get creative!
