Indoor Hans' GoGrow LED Test #1

Well this completes my first of two tests with this LED. Obviously pretty happy with how this grow turned out and the performance of this light... I will be doing a detailed review after completing my second test grow but for now I will give some of my initial impressions on this light.

Firstly, this is a very well built solid light... mine took a beating during shipping which managed to cause several dents and scratches to the unit (see here) but to my surprise when I powered it up it was still fully functional with no rattles or loose parts which is a testament to just how well built these lights are.

As for the lights performance, well the results should speak for themselves. ;) The vigorous growth during veg was the best I've had and clearly this light can produce some extremely fat sticky buds during flower... I will point out some downsides however, the biggest one being the rated 4x4' footprint. This light will NOT adequately cover a 4x4' space and I really don't know why they rate it as such, just based on the fact that this is a rectangular light that has a length that is 2.5x the width will tell you that it's not going to be a square coverage area... So if you plan on filling a 4x4' space than just this light will not be enough hence why I had to add some additional lighting for the second half of the grow. Based on my experience I would say the true footprint would be 4x3' in veg and 4x2' for flower.

Also just to note for flower you ideally want the light distance in the 18-20" range, this will give you optimal light penetration without getting any bleached tips... Since my Glueberry ended up being almost 6' tall keeping this distance wasn't always possible had some of the tops directly under the light which were often less than 12" away did get some bleached tips, which is to be expected for a powerful LED light like this.

For my second grow with this light I will be running it in my 4x2' tent which as I mentioned above is the ideal coverage area so we'll see what just this LED can do in that size space.

Man you are an autopot GOD. I'm leaning between autopots and DWC and more towards DWC for yield but your threads make it so much more competitive!
