Grow Mediums Growpito + AutoPots

I got over-confident with these autopots, and thought I could quickly solve any problems.
I increased feed too much to 600 ppm instead of the recommended 500, and got lights a bit too close.
So now the left plant, Purple Scoops has the worst nute burn I've ever had.
But now food and light have been reduced, and Purple Scoops is looking stressed but ok. Passion Punch suffered only slightly from nute/light burn.

They are starting their 9th week.

They look fantastic! Depending on the strain they can take much more, not suggesting so but the medium itself is very forgiving. I have had plants stall at high ppm rather than burn though harvest wasn't the prettiest.

You're really rocking it though. Do you have an Instagram? Would love to feature you on our page or at least submit some photos of that is alright with you.

Good luck!

Thanks for the comment.
Yours might be worse than mine.

I don't do instragram, but you are welcome to use any photos or quotes.
You might change your mind after you see how I burned RocBud PurpleScoops.
But it could serve as a caution for what happens when plants simultaneously have too much food and light.

That's not bad especially at this point in flower. Mine were pretty bad off just completely stalled. Very long flush back down to 250ppm and they started growing again after a day. This medium is incredibly forgiving compared to others.

I've mucked up my Growpito/Autopots experiment a bit by over-feeding and over-radiating.
The left plant, RocBud PurpleScoops is severely burned from a QB 12" away and 600 ppm (EC=1.2).
I've cut some bad leaves and leaf tips off.
PassionPunch on the right is slightly burned.
Both plants are at the 9.5 week mark, and might get harvested in a week or so.
Both:

PassionPunch:

I over-estimated how much Growpito would protect the plants from too much fertilizer.
If I do this again, I'll never go above EC=0.9

But I might not do it again.
I have some simultaneous 4 usable gallon, 2-plant dwc setups going too.
When I learn how these work best, I expect them to be easier than autopots.
So far zero reservoir changes, and plant vessel ppm and pH are behaving themselves.
I'm recording pH and ppm for storage res and plant res daily.
I haven't added my usual clorox or changed out any water, and hope I won't need to ever do so.
If the dwc setups continue to behave themselves thru harvest, I might abandon autopots and stick with hydro.
The hope is that these can be dealt with just like autopots, and the only maintenance will be to keep the storage reservoir pH and ppm reasonable.
Here are a FastBuds Blackberry and a Mephisto 3BearsOG at 6.5 weeks in a 3 x 3 ft tent:

There is a significant possibility that as the plants near harvest things will go haywire.
But that's ok because I can live without those plants.

I think you're being hypercritical of yourself. They really do not look as bad as you make it sound. I think you will get them to harvest and I look forward to seeing how it goes. I've done WAYYYYYY worse and burnt them much more. Go look at my first thread on this very site when I first started with autos. However, that Bubba Trouble smoke was fucking amazing and something special. Anyways, best of luck.

Edit: It sounds kind of like I'm saying I haven't messed up since the first time I started working with autos. Let me make this clear however, I am an awful grower and I stay fucking up, but it is a fun hobby and I love learning.

I harvested the burned RocBud Purple Scoops today after 9.5 weeks.
It yielded 7.5 oz wet, which will be about 1.5 oz dry.
My burning of this plant led to my cutting off a lot of crispy bud fan leaves, which probably reduced yield significantly.

I've got 1 oz wet drying at room temp with a fan blowing on it, hoping to dry it completely in about 6 hrs, then some cannacaps.

The Passion Punch looks much better than Scoops, and looks like it will yield at least twice as much.
It will get harvested this weekend or mid week next week at about 10 or 10.5 weeks.

Here are some observations on Growpito + Autopots so far:
It could be that the 2.2 pots finish noticeably quicker than my 2-plant 15 gallon hydro setups, but it's just a suspicion at this point.
I've rarely had an auto finish this fast.
The growth was only about 75% as vigorous as hydro, but that's still plenty good enough for me.
In fact, this amount of plant growth is exactly what I wanted.
Normally the autos grown in this space would yield 3-5 oz each, but sometimes as much as 8 oz.
Following the Vapor Pressure Deficit chart might need less fertilizer.
600 ppm plus close lights for 1 week severely burned one plant, and burned the other slightly, and even 500 ppm is partly responsible for the burn.
Next time I'll try 400-450 ppm. (500 scale).
I don't like having to hand water sprouts, and there has to be an easier way. Maybe turning pots on with very low ppm to start?
In fact I'm going to try that unless someone talks me out of it.
But maybe the most important thing of all is that Growpito + Autopots is very, very easy.

Yeah bro with autos I’d max at 1.0ec. In this system unless they were asking for more. I’ve been a less is more guy for the last couple grows and my shit has been better then ever with solid yields. With these photos I’ve been 1.0-1.2 for veg and around the same so far for the first week of flower. I have some lighter colored gals I’m thinking may need a slight increase and all the other girls look like they’ll fair just fine as nobody is showing signs of even the slightest tip burn. So happy with their growpito when I’m out of EM-1 I’m probably gonna order their beneficials. Also @FTF_damien50 has been using the same stuff for two years perpetually with no issues. I started looking at the same time he wound up living close to the facility and was lucky enough to get a tour and spend time with the owner. Lucky lucky guy lol and got a free bag.
