New Grower Growing medium....?

Just wonder what people's experiences have been with different types of grow medium? I've almost finished my first grow, for which I used Canna Terra Pro Plus.

For my next grow, I'd like to try something different. Just wondering what people would recommend? What have you had the best results with? Bio bizz, coco, pebbles, something else?

Interested to hear what the pros and cons are from people that have tried different types.

I started with Happy Frog/Ocean Forest/Perlite. I then changed to 50/50 Ocean Forest/Perlite for a long while. From there I went to Coco Loco and Canna bagged coco. I like Coco Loco a lot because I get great roots.

Out of those, which one would you say is the lowest maintenence? I think I read somewhere that coco needs daily attention, whereas soil is a bit more forgiving. Any truth to that do you think?

Coco certainly can take daily attention, especially if using small pots. I water my 3 gallon smart pots every day to every other day, weather dependent.
It would seem that soil would be a better fit (not counting drip systems) for those that have less time to give a grow. Sometimes my old soil pots would go 6 days without water. With coco, its far more difficult to over water. A bigger pot will usually net you less water/nutes time needed. The main reason I changed to coco is that I wanted to introduce more water/nutes. It really comes down to lifestyle and the time one can give their plants.
