Indoor Growing Autos in SIPs with living soil~~> Bloody Skunk, Red Poison, Zkittles, GDP, and Blue Dream

Youre gonna need another tent
I sure hope they get super big and out grow my tent but so far my normal is small to medium plants at best. i would love to have a 3rd tent so lets see what happens :smoking:

A bit late but next time around you might want to run some gorilla/duct tape around the soil platform to keep soil and worms out of your rez. What are you using for your overflow? Get some nematodes to deal with the fungus gnats or next time you open the cover it may be like walking into a bat cave.

Thanks for the advice/tips much appreciated.

I like the duct tape idea for keeping worms and soil out of res, nice idea  as for overflow, nothing, when it spills out i will shop vac it up, i don't need a breeding ground for more gnats lol but it would make killing them easier with standing water and bti.

I got a ton more sticky pads and a huge bag of bti unlike last grow i had a tiny little bag of bti to test if it worked and could not fully control the gnats but the stuff worked i just ran out of it. i'm hoping once i stop top feeding and start res filling only the gnats will fuck off i hope. i would try nematodes but have no experience with them.

Nematodes will eat the larvae that will eat your roots--big problem. Unless really bad infestation, the flyers are just a nuisance. These are real easy to use: Amazon product
On my DIY sips, I use these for drain DRAIN I put at opposite end of fill tube. When you water the rez, once water starts draining, keep pouring for about 9 seconds. This will help push out any old stuff keeping your water fresh. On the EB jr I tried, put gorilla tape over the built in drain and installed a hose barb. I run 1/2" tubing to jars
On your DIY's I wouldn't have the rez any more than 2 gallons. With 2 plants in each, should last you a week. I started with a bigger rez and had issues with water becoming rancid.

Nice idea on the drain to jars, i'll have to work on that for sure. i just need the plug as i have plenty of tubing. :thanks:

The DIY sips hold 2gallons of water max, i tested it before drilling the hole and the store bought citypickers also hold 2 gallons in the res.

Now i'm just waiting for the perfect time to fill up the res and see how they wick.

I'll add the nematodes to my list and if they get bad I'll invest.

If you're going to let your rez dry out for a short period of time, this is what I'd do.
I'll bet the roots have hit all side of the sips. I turned on the rez at 14 or 15 days
I wouldn't fill the rez full. I would only add what can be used in 72hrs. Suck it out if it's still there after that.
I've got my big haze to the point she drinks the EB rez in less than 48hrs. Once I see the rez dry, I wait to the next day to feed and then add water to the rez. If you have EM1, you can add that to the rez once a week to keep things clean.

Tomorrow is day 14 so i'll add 1 gallon each to each sip even though they each can hold 2 gallons, i'll add 1 to test how fast they go through it and i do have a nice shop vac that can suck those res dry if needed.

If they look to small i can wait a few more days before i fill the res, thoughts?

I don't see why you can't fill the rez tomorrow, but I'd wait a couple of days.
