Indoor Growing Autos in SIPs with living soil~~> Bloody Skunk, Red Poison, Zkittles, GDP, and Blue Dream

@CrookDog forgot to tag you bro here is day 4

I moved the lights up a few inches as the 2 red poisons in the center of the led were turning lighter green, maybe its just the strain but to be safe i went up :smoking:

I took pics of my other tent so I took some pics of these girls while i was up and about. They look happy so far, I'll change out the black covers here soon as i still have not had to mess with them yet.

Tomorrow i will remove the covers and give the girls some love and see if the soil needs some moisture.

@WildBill @Fermented_Fruitz When do you guys add bokashi again after 1st using it to prep the soil?
I was thinking of using the veg boosted bokashi tomorrow with the watering.

oh and the covers seem fine with temps, i don't own a infered temp gun but i did put my little meter on it for half the day and it does not get very hot, then again my lights are pretty high up 37 inches i think now. 80.6F as hot as it gets while the tent temp is 78F, thoughts on it? i can still change them out if you still think they will cause me stress later. i don't need problems later on lol

If u added some when u mixed soil u shouldn’t need more right now! Maybe in another week u could do a 1/2 dose and that should take u til u need the bloom blend!

I used the free sample normal bokashi he sent me not the veg stuff i bought and i sprinkled just a little bit to get things started.

I know me, i'll want to start throwing buildaflower and craft at it as soon as i see sexing but i'll resist and follow the plan lol

With SIP containers it’s less is more for sure! Once I started adding the kashi and changing up feed schedule with the stuff it started throwing shit off track! Best results were when I added the least stuff during grow! If u got living soil type blend you’re growing in u won’t need to add much! I would still wait the week and then go super light on it cuz remember with dry amendments it takes time to kick in AND IF U ADD TO MUCH THERE IS NO REVERSING IT! Would take tons and tons of flushing and you’d have to have a pump to siphon the reservoir out!

Welcome to the grow  :pass:

I'm trying to get away from hand watering myself and this is my 1st try at it but i still end up hand watering until i can fill the res up, then i hope they don't drink 2 gallons a day :crying: after this grow i will try autopots and see if that route is the best for hands free watering :smoking: but then I'm opening a new can of worms by going hydro nutes in a res for the 1st time unless we can do living soil in autopots and just have the res filled up with rain water :shrug:more research is needed :smoking:
Autopots with living soil is exactly what I will be doing this winter. The soil is cooking now.

You don't have to use autopot pots, you can subirrigate anything using the autovalves. I will be using 10 gallon fabric pots, but I have also used large totes fed by autovalves for growing peas and salad stuff on my deck. Once plants are established, the irrigation cycle seems to be perfect.

@pop22 has done some really nice autopot grows with water only soil mix, so it can definitely work well. The reason I am going in that direction is to eliminate the issue of nute buildup in subirrigated pots. With water only irrigation, maybe I can avoid the nuisance of needing to flush plants later in the grow. So far, I have always run into some sort of nute imbalance or toxicity during flowering on most of my salt nute grows. If I end up with decent results this winter, water only soil with autovalves will be my go to approach.

Good luck with the SIP's mate, I'll be following along with interest.:pighug:

I seen that with the auto valve you can do all kinds of things, hell i seen dudes make their own float valves for tote sips and diy autopots using auto watering bowls for dogs, cool stuff! :smoking:

My mother bought me a single autopot XL with res for my birthday, it should be at my house in 3 days or so, i'm excited to test things with it but for my 1st few grows with the autopot i will use coco or promix and use megacrop, once i buy some more autopots i'll start my testing, i was thinking of buying 2 more single autopots with res so i can test 3 different grows 1 being living soil/water only, 1 being coco/promix w/maxibloom, 1 being coco/promix w/megacrop and see what happens, which is easier and most effective.
So far i love living soil and anything related to it so i may adopt living soil into every type of grow i want to try minus DWC lol.

Thanks for following along and giving some advice
