I have 2 seedsman great white auto's it's the 4th week and no signs of flowering. If they don't auto do I switch the lights to 12/12 to try and jump start them? or is it a start over scenario?

Panda. Some swap to 12/12 till signs of flowering. Or if running 24/7 reduce to 18/6 or so for a week and see. I have had luck giving them a day or so 24 hours darkness. You will get varied answers on this one. But either will work, hopefully. Just my :2cents:

I wish I had just killed two seed pacts. I was almost homeless, working as a handiman! A master craftsman, a fucking handiman. As I was doing this I was sending most of my money overseas, buying these seeds and then watching them die in the feild. Only after finding this site did I learn to start them indoors first. I LOVE the autos, but they have a different life cycle. AFN saved me from forgeting about autos, there are some great growers here, and in the future maybe we can toughen these ladies to handle the great outdoors on their own.

hey dead panda's if they don't show some sign of sex with 18 or more hours of light by 30 days they probably are not auto and, or were not stabalized, so if you switch to 12/12 you will need to keep it there and treat these plants as photo's. best of luck.

Well, my joint doctors diesel ryder is 12weeks old and still isn't flowering :D Bought two seeds, one died 3 days after sprouting, this one is doing well except it isn't flowering at 4th-5th week like it is supposed to.

Another issue is "Germination %"...........the top growers like DP have suffered from low germination............my experience with the "TD"............out of 2 lots of 10 beans got 3 plants,...........2 Qs marks, 1 good phen/geno..??.........at 9quid a bean that's not funny either...........hope they sort that out soon.................S-B had the same on his TD run................2 out of 10 beans,,,,,,,,,,,,,,took 25 beans to get 3 suitable for the trial ??..................any one else had probs with germination % ?/...........AB........

...any one else had probs with germination...

Yes.

Regardless of the strain or breeder, and using the same techniques I have always used, my germination rate with autos is usually lower than with photos. And, if the seeds are not feminized, there seems to be a higher percentage of males in the autos I have grown.

However, there are some amazing surprises with autos.

My recent grow, where I had to sacrifice my four mutant Jock Horrors to save two scraggly AK-47s, has been dried and cut.
The AK-47s yielded about 12 oz. of dried bud.

I haven't grow any TD, so can't comment on their germination rate. But over the past 5 years I've grown hundreds of autos and my germination rate has been consistently over 90%, about the same as I have always gotten from photos. The biggest problem I see with poor germination is cool soil temperatures. Even when the seeds are soaked till they crack if the soil temps are low they will often just rot in the soil. I find that soil temps between 75 - 80 degrees work best. As to male to female ratios, I generally run at about 60% females to 40% males, but of course it varies from grow to grow. One may be 30/70 and the next 60/40, etc. but when average over time, it's always close to 60% female.

Thanx buddro and mckb024 I appreciate the advice it's my first grow so being new to the advanture Im still learning a lot about auto's
