:frog:STICKY THREAD!!

:coffee: geez, what a yakky bunch! :vibe: ...I'll chip away at this here,...

I was thinking that I could start the photos outdoors or put them out at 2-3 weeks of 16/8 without much effect. Wouldn’t a photo seed started outdoors sense the increasing length of day and remain in veg growth? Seems like nature would take care of that as it would occur in nature. Now, I could see a plant started indoors under excessive light then being being put outside having some confusion; but I would have thought they would acclimate and continue veg once they realized that the days were increasing in length?
yup, they will know it's increasing,... actually, it's how long the dark is that they are operating from, a feedback loop balancing act with phytochrome 9 a sensory pigment if you will)... I think I found a decent article on it, and some other things of interest and relevance HERE....
Anyway, the key to just make sure the plants going from inside lighting to outside are not jumping from shorter to longer dark periods... when very young and immature, they aren't as easily affected, but that changes quickly,.. Some growers veg' for a month only, then switch to bloom sched', so as you see the window is small,... doesn't have to be down to the minute, but you see why now it's not good to start them at 18/6 or more, then try to get them outside when it's at best 14/10! Sucha drop, while not 12/12 can be enough to trigger blooming in some strains, genotypes, etc.,...
As for what to grow, your harvest T and RH% for that part of the season is where much will hinge from, and how long it is... If you're dry, cooling by then, then your strain choices are wide indeed! If not, like me, Fall can be nice, but may bring early rain, cold nights (mid-low 50's), this is what gets the mold to activate, so finishing speed matters a lot... If you have a long grow season, then you can dabble in more landracey Sativa's, with longer bloom times, and get heat and mold resistance (as WW mentioned, equatorial strains like WW mentioned)... Also note, and i think this is the big difference between where he r-grows and I grow, up at that Lat', the rate of light loss is faster than at my Lat',.. we gain/lose about 1 min a day, it's more than that up there; that means while our plants may trigger into bloom close to each other in time, my finishing season is longer than his, to say nothing of the inclement weather.... What are your seasonal parameters like DTOM? A lot of strains these days do not do well outside unless it's damn nice all the way through,... You list has nice strains, but are they viable choices depends on your info,.., always feel free to contact the rep's here for input, I do! Dina-'Boldt Mark, Sweet Tommy, DP Tony for those that apply,... otherwise it's emailing the breeders directly...

I'm probably more looking forward to you guys outdoor season starting up than you guys are, least then I'll have some more outdoor grows to come check out and learn from:yay:! It's lonely being nearly the only one with an outdoor grow happening at the moment!!:smoking:
