New Grower Grow tent setup

Good choice on the strain and the heater option. So the cold will be the thing to control which in my opinion is easier to deal with than the heat but that also depends how cold.I told someone else this on height so what you have to take into consideration is that with the pot you can lose about 10 to 12 inches now that tent is 6ft high and take the plant and say it is 42 inches or 3 1/2 feet now you are at roughly 3 1/2 feet you have to compensate for the height of the light which is about 8 inches(I just measured mine it is the same you would have, mine is also a cool tube 600 watt). Now you are roughly at 2'8" then lastly you need at least 16 to 18 inches from the light to the canopy so now you are at 1'2" to play with and if the plant gets bigger then that's another thing to keep in mind. Sativa dominant hybrids can pick up the height and stretchy characteristics and may even grow taller. The 3 gallon pots should help you out, because usually smaller pot =smaller plant. Right now I have 10 in my tent and 8 have the same canopy pretty much but I have 2 brooklyn sunrises that decided they would go ape shit and take over one side of the tent. They are they same strain and in the same size pot and I have one 2 inches under the lights but with more space I can move them around in a smaller tent you don't have many choices. There are pros and cons for both types you just have to find out what works for you. I guess I am just saying be prepared for anything and everything. The Devil Cream seems like a good choice for what you have going on. Also when they say a Sative or Indica dominant it can be 51 percent of one or another and it can get labeled as dominant.Just some future reference when you go to pick strains but sounds like you have a good idea of what you like.

Thanks for taking the time to do some measurments for me. Seems like I will have to be careful with the height of the plant. I would hate to grow a great plant just to run into height problems down the road. Maybe I will look into a foot taller tent to be safe. I'm sure theres another brand around the same price with a tad bit taller height. I wasn't planning on going bigger than 3 Gallon pots so that should help keep the size down a bit. If I were to run into a height issue, anyway to train them to change direction/path or at that point are you royal screwed? Thanks for the help.

You are welcome! You just have to look at the height given. I looked up the devil cream and it says about 40 inches,I am sure you knew that. I let mine go naturally but there are techniques like LST low stress training which keeps the plant at a level canopy but the bush out. There is pony tailing but for your first grow unless you have someone that can show you it is hard when you are just getting into it. I would recommend going with the basics and get them dialed in. You will just have to go with it if that happens. The funny thing is you can never count on them not doing what you would like them to.We as growers are at the mercy of mother nature.Yeah just have do deal with it as it goes through it's cycle. I have never wished a plant would stop growing. Something else read Muddy's Life of an Autoflower it will explain a lot. You can give them bloom nutes at week 4 to keep them at what the breeders recommend. If you wait until week 5 or 6 then they will get bigger. That's about all I have and oh the link to Muddy's write up is at the top of this forum give it a read through.

Awesome thanks. I've heard about LST slightly but haven't read much on it. I will take a look at that Muddys Life post ASAP. Appretiate the input. I will probably make a grow journal on the forum once all my equipment comes in and stuff. Then you guys can really watch me fail or fly haha. Cheers!

Cool thread, I'm getting ready to set up exactly that! [emoji106] [emoji16]

I'm planning on using either 2 Mars600's, or 3 to 4 Mars300's. Or I may try just using one ViparSpectra 1200. Still working out the fine tuning. [emoji106] [emoji108] [emoji2]

Talk about a nice growing area man. You have alot of space for tents. Super jealous. Do you have any specific tent that you prefer? I know theres alot of factors but figured I'd ask. I would love to get a Gorilla tent but they are out of my budget by alot. Hopefully one day :)
