Im in the process of starting my first grow... I got everything going had it going for the past 2days. Temps are decent 78-83 with light on and down to 65-68 when light's off. The issue Im having is with the humidity which is at around 30. Is there any way I can raise my humidity without having to go out and by a humidifier? I'll leave the specs to my system below.

3x3x6 Tent
600w hps
4in ventech exhaust with passive intake
8in fan to move air around

Plan on using soil and I'll be growing 3plants in 9L pots. I plan on starting a journal but want to make sure my climate is ok.

fill a tub with water and put a fan blowing across the top.or just buy a cheap humidifier you can get a cheap one for around 30 to 40 dollars

Also if you can decrease the amount of air you are pulling from the tent, that will help.

I'm having a similar humidity issue in my tent.

If you don't wanna buy a humidifier (though i strongly recommend it, you'll thank yourself later) there are a few different ways you can raise your humidity.

1- wet some towels, make sure you wring em out good so they arent dripping all over the place, and hang them along the cross bars in the tent.
2- wet a sponge and put it in a bowl, then put the bowl in the tent. The moisture from the sponge will be evaporated into the air.
3- you can do like lykaboss said, and fill up the tub.

really, theres a multitude of different ways you can do this, and google is your best friend, lol But really, the best solution is going to be to get a humidifier, since none of the other ways to add humidity are...well...convenient lol

anything with any type of water in it is going to raise the humidity ever so slightly but honestly I got a humidifier for under 20$ and it was one of the best purchases I made. Mz. dub said it the best. any other way is not convenient at all.

Thanks for the reply..looks like the best solution will be to get a cheap humidifier.

Is my 125w cfl enough to seed and veg for a few wks before I expose them to the HID?

don't know if this'll work but maybe putting glasses of water under each passive intake hole might work?
I ussually leave water in the tray that catches the run off water (I did raise the pot so it wouldn't be standing in the water)

but a cheap humidifier is the best way :p

Had same problem, used buckets, plates, towels (witch seem to get realy dirty and ugly) and eventualy I bought a cheep ass humidifire. It saved me lots of trouble ... try to place it near the intake so you don't make it rainy inside. And search for one with a big reservoir, I'd say 2-3 L at least.
You will be better off with the cfl at the begining, for at least a couple of weeks.
