Hi,

my name is Buzzy and I am a first time grower who is deeply interested in some feedback on his plans. For months I was one of those silent readers, now I decided to create an account, get some specific feedback and give back to the community when the time is come.

I will start my first grow later this year and I am currently in my late planing phase. I have read tons an tons of information, but information can never beat experience. Over the time I came up with a plan which I think is quite good for me. There are many questions still open though. I'll describr my plan as short as possible:

- 1,0 x 1,0 x 1,8m Tent (around 3,3x3,3x6 foot)
- 4x 15l Airpots
- 2x Apollo-6 lights from cidly (418W total)
- 3x 18W T5 925 (Aquarium Lights, total of 54w)
- 20/4h of light
- 4x DP Think Different
- BioBizz Starter Package (Grow, Bloom, RootJuice, TopMax, Heaven)
- Canna Ca and Canna Mg
- BioBizz Light Mix + additional 10-20% perlites
- 220/280 m3/h Fan + 300m3/h Filter
- Oscillating Fan

And a bunch of other stuff which plays no big role here.

My biggest questions so far are the following:

Which spectrum to go with?

Since I can costumize the Apollo panels I need some tips on spectrums. I'd like one unit to have a bit more blue in it for single use during veg. phase but enough red for dual use in flowering phase. The other unit can be full flower.
As you can see I'll have an additional 54w of T5 925s. Is that maybe already enough blue for vegging when paired with the full flower LED spectrum? If yes, I'd go full flower spectrum with both units!
I already saw another users' thread where he bought an Apollo-10 with custom spectrum by Red Eyed C and TaNg. Unfortunately cidly doesn't offer the specific LEDs he used anymore. Here's what LEDs they offered me:

red: 620-630nm, 660nm
blue: 460-470nm 430nm
White: 6500-7500k
Yellow: 580-590nm
Orange: 610-615nm
UV: 380-410nm
IR: 730-850nm

What lenses to go with?

As most of you might know, with the apollo you can go 60/90/120 degree lenses. What would suit my space best? I'd personally would go with 90 degrees. What about you guys?

Question on drying/curing with boveda packs:

I will have some timing problems at the end of the grow, my excact problem is posted right here:
https://www.autoflower.org/f23/boveda-62%-31142-new-post.html

I'll propably have a lot more questions over te next days since I want to finish my planning soon, but I will leave it right here for today. I hope my form of putting my questions in one thread instead of posting it in the different forums is ok. Also I hope you understand everything, since I am a non native speaker. If not feel free to ask me anytime.

Any help is deeply appreciated and of course I will give back by starting a journal as soon as my grow starts!

Have an awesome day,
Buzzy

And thanks for the warm
welcome :)

Have a good day,
Buzzy

There you go Buzzy ....your all moved:coffee2:

Morning Buzzy and welcome to AFN. Looks like CGR is already looking out for you.

Regarding your drying question, as long as you can dry you buds enough so that they are under about 65% after being jarred for a good 24 hours you should be fine. Just make sure they are nice and loose in the jar. If you can put them in an oversized jar that would be even better and keep in a cool dark place.

Good luck

Hey Buzzy, welcome bro!

Just checking out your thread, looking really cool. Just a heads up bro, and this is only my opinion due to my experiences with Biobizz, but some espom salts may come in handy for you, and maybe some lime. I had major problems with their All-mix being to acidic. Just a heads up man, something to keep in mind-you might want to check the organics section for an awesome Biobizz thread!

Karma to your grow dude.

Dazed.

Hi oldster, hi Dazed!

First of all, thank you for your replies and for the warm welcome!

Drying:
Thanks for the tip! I might go the way Eyes On Fire posted in the other thread, basicly implies what you'd do :)

So if I understand you right your going to harvest and dry your plant and then very soon after that yer going on a trip for a bit..ok no problem..thats easy man dont sweat it.

If you chop your plant and hang dry branches about 12 inches long you should be able to get a decent 5 day dry or there about, and then once you do that.take your trimming scissors and clip all the single buds n slide em into a jar and seal it up for 12 -18 hours then open the Jar and leave it open(always away from direct light,Light degrades THC and cannabinoids) then stick a fresh 8 Gram pak in there and seal it up.you dont have to get that fancy if ya dont want.,just 5 day dry or 6 ,whatever then clip to single buds n stick in a jar with one or two 62% 8 gram packs and seal it up in a cool dark place n you should be fine.2 weeks away?no worries.Ive yet to have a problem as long as your stem in at the a little close to snapping point it'll be plenty dry to sit with boveda paks fer 2 weeks..:Sharing One:

BioBizz:
Thanks for the heads up! I will go with the Light Mix, got any similar experience with that? If it's the same problem, I'll get myself some epson salts and lime ;)
By the way, I forgot to add Canna Mg and Canna Ca in my first post. I'll get those two to be save in case of CalMag problems due to the LEDs!

And for those of you who are interested in a grow journal: I will start growing in mid september and will post a journal with pictures and all! ;)

Have a great day,
Buzzy

You'll be fine with the canna Mg and Canna Ca, that's all the epsom salts are for. If you have some time before you plant, why don't you test the pH of your Light Mix before you start. I've not used Light Mix, but to be honest, whatever soil you are using, I would be testing it before any seeds go in there, that way you will iron out any problems before you start :)

Looking forward to your journal bro.

Alrighty then, so I am covered :D

I'll have about the time it takes the seeds to germinate for letting the soil sit a little. I'll just water it, wait a day, water it again and check the pH. I'll try to go with those pH-testing-stripes to get a overview with what I am working. By the way my tap water pH is around 8.5 according to the local "water-supplier". Do I have to lower it to 6.5? If yes, thats after I put my nutes in, right? I am pretty confused due to the "no-pH-testing-with-organics" and "without-pH-testing-you're-scewed" talk wich can be found all along the web.

Have a great day,
Buzzy

Are you wanting to grow organically Buzzy?

My tap water is riddled with allsorts and it kills the little micro herd in there. I would try to find the ppm of your water too. R/O water or rainwater are good. If you are wanting to grow organically, I would read into it. It's a different twist on regular soil/coco because you are feeding the soil. Flushing isn't really advised as you are clearing the soil of all it's micro herds that are helping to feed the plant. Things like pH Up/Down kill the herd's too. I use Biobizz Allmix, Bio-Grow and Bloom ( Although this grow I haven't used the grow becasue I overpotted and there is enough in the soil to keep me going for a few weeks. I have been feeding rainwater with epsom salts and molasses and so far it's working great.

You want your soil to ideally be between 6.5-7.0. You should know that adding nutes usually brings the pH down a bit. There is a thread on rainwater somewhere here from a few days back, I can tell you, my plants love the stuff!

Peace.
