Lighting Grow Northern Live Tech Talk

I think I found an error in the documentation. there it says:"Two units will give equivalent, or slightly better, performance than a 600W HPS and use just 150W of electricity"I know im not the best HPS grower and more is possible, but on really good times I yield 0,9 gpw with my 600W SOG Style- this would mean 2 HS would have to yield 3,8 gpw if this was true.. 4x HS equal 600W HPS sounds more reasonable, considering the 2gpw I saw here. cheers

How many GN Holographic Series 1's can I safely daisy chain together ? This question is for a friend living in the UK so using the UK electric/plugs etc. Also my friend wants to use one of these plug and grow switches

these are meant to be able to handle a single 600w HPS

thanks in advance

You can run 2 through a 2 way controller connected to a timer. I ran my ms0006 this way using the exact same timer.

I'm not really sure what your trying to work out there but 2 HS1's give you a similar grow potential of 1 600w HPS. IF you had 4 HS1's then that would be like having 2 600w HPS

I don't understand, my friend was planing on connecting 4 together then just plug them straight into the wall via the plug and grow. 4 HS1's is only 300w ? I don't know, what am I missing ?

Look, my best grows I yield 0,9gpw with 600W HPS in SOG. 600W x 0,9 = 540g nice dry bud. 540g / 2x HS1 150W = 3,6 gpw two HS1 would need to achieve. Do you think 3,6 gpw is realistic? I have only seen 2 gpw, which is far from that. And im by far not the best grower with HPS. In case of 4x HS1 they would have yield 1,8 gpw, which fits the 2 gpw I have seen here more. Thats why I said its an error in the documentation. cheers

The HS1's have only been out since January so give them a chance, have a look at this grow for now https://www.autoflower.org/f109/tes...to-blackberry-kush-auto-euforia-39074-49.html

or if your just trying to say that HPS is better at growing and more powerful etc then yes you are probably right, but i think the point is that your using 600w bulbs and i'm using 2x 75w LEDs. Plus your growing Photos and I'm growing Autos.

I have taken the line out its too vague I think originally it was information about comparative coverage using the 90 x 60 diffuser and two units but that line has been cut out at a later point and now it doesn't really say anything, apologies improving the site information is one of our top priorities right now.

The Holographic series 1 was not designed as a retrofit for specific HPS ballast. However right now we are producing some really useful information regarding spec suggestions for replacing HPS lighting for different growing techniques. This will detail the number of units, type of optics and spectrum which will produce comparable growth and coverage to HPS lighting.

The wireless version will have some programming features but will need to remain connected for timing and dimming schedules. The command center is primarily for controlling and automating a lighting system not for programming the drivers.

Yes this is possible with a specific DALI bridge like the Philips multione however I don't think you can just use any USB to DALI bridge to program the units.

The command center is a made up term for a DALI bus/network controller, most controllers will have a bridge built in to receive commands and recall queries but the primary function is to control and automate several connected lights.

So we must keep lights connected to command center or Philips multione, which is most probably also command center, but very simple one, in order to use dimming, time scheduling etc.? Or we connect them, when we want to alter something and then drivers execute commands without beiing connected to any DALI devices?

I'm getting close to finishing the first completed (public) grow after using 75w for 40 days of veg and 150w for bloom over the 2 plants. I've already yielded 102g dry from the Kush and the Euphoria will come in between 250-300g maybe more so that can't be far from 3GPW can it?
The most exciting thing for me so far isn't the efficiency although it's amazing,it's the resin production that's blown me away. I was wondering on my dog walk this morning if the 250-300g Euphoroa will have more Trichomes than the 1/2kg Auto Ultimate as that had medium resin coverage. What I'm trying to say is Yeild isn't everything quality should be the most important.
