Your friendly inquisitor
Hi everybody, glad to be here!
I started growing cannabis in June. I live in a small apartment so a nice, big grow tent is out of the question. Therefore, I decided to build a space bucket and purchased some seeds of Afghan Skunk (Advanced Seeds) and Northern Lights (00 seeds). I picked these two because I have fond memories of smoking Northern Lights 16 years ago, lying on my couch in blissful narcotic stupor. As for the skunk, the grow shop owner said it's a good yielding and forgiving strain for beginners.
So far I've completed two grows of Afghan Skunk. I ended up doing two grows of the same strain so that I can see what I've learned between grows. In the meantime I built another bucket in which I've planted a seed I got from the very last buds that I actually paid for. I flipped it to 12/12 10 days ago. I'll see how it goes - I'm more interested in observing the difference between autos and photoperiods than getting a nice harvest. After all, it may still be male.
Last Friday I harvested my second skunk. Since my wife wanted me to grow a sativa next (she's not enthusiastic about mind-crushing indicas), I put an AutoDurban Poison in the ground. It just sprouted today and I'll start a grow log tomorrow.
I'm very excited about AutoDurban and I can't wait to see how it differs from my skunk, both in how it grows and how it feels. I'm also looking forward to Dutch Passion's new strains that are coming out in a month. Even though this is the beginning of my growing journey and there is much to learn, I feel like time is going too slowly and I wish I could grow every strain I see, organically or chemically, under CFLs or LEDs, in soil and coir...
But easy does it. Thanks for having me!
