I'm a first timer also. I've never grown anything from seed except Venus Flytraps when I was a kid I was worried about were I was at in the grow, if I had stunted them because of the LST. But we seem to both be on track! Here's to a successful grow

I think you have done well for the first grow. Not always about the biggest plant but one that's grown and cured by your own hands. Then get better every grow.
And I will say this now, curing is as hard as growing. Prepare early and be patient. Do you have a curing method in mind?

I plan to harvest when trichomes are milky and ~ 20% amber. Dry in a darkened space (with a temp of 72F and RH @ 50%) until buds snap clean from the stalk. Place in Mason jars. Burp the jars over a couple weeks time then store in a cool dark place with 62% Boveda packets. This is just from reading online. Real world advice is needed. I don't know what's better. Dry trim, green trim? I do know I'd like to recover some finger hash

Sounds like a great plan. I use brown paper lunch bags, just a small layer in the bottom. A good rule of thumb is a day for every 10% humidity plus one.

I'm going to do as much as I can wet trim then make em more pretty after they dry. Just what I plan on doing

Any of the trichomes I can gather, I got finger hash in mind. Sugar leaves and the rest I'll set aside for cannabutter.

It's my understanding that green trimming will make for a better flavor of smoke

I dry sift all the leaves and fluff to get the trichromes off. Then I have a nice little jar of kief for whatever whenever I want to make it. After you’ve sifted you can take al the green matter and

Put it in grain alcohol to make a tincture
Put it in an oil to make edibles
Or
Roll it up and smoke it. Does it taste awesome ? No it tastes like old school mexi weed.

Does it make you feel like Albert Einstein solving the secrets of the universe? No but it does give you a nice mild body stone.
Roll it up and give it to someone who hasn’t smoked in 20 years and they will think it’s the best thing ever. But seriously it’s not bad for folks that can’t handle super high THC weed and does give a 2 hour body and mild euphoria stone. And since it’s scrap you can give it away so you are everybody’s hero.

I dont do a close trim. The sugar leaf smoke, and I dont care about bag appeal as it is for me and my grow buddy. Always fire and any freebies given away never get complaints! I make butter using bud only. Only takes a couple grows to get enough materials that it doesn't matter.
