Alright l.c has been noc'd up about 2cc per 650 ml of food. We shall see if the spores are still viable.
For anyone who doesn't have the recipe for making l.c here it is. (GoAuto6 please correct me if I'm wrong)
Remeber to wipe down your whole area with alcohol and wear gloves and be clean. Spray some air cleaner in the area you are going to work. STERILE. ...STERILE....STERILE. Get in the habit now or pay for it in lost time an effort later.
6-12 qt jars. I like the wide mouth. They can be multi-purposed for spawn later on.
600-650 ml (per jar) hot as hell water ( to disolve the malt an karo syrup)
1 tsp karo syrup ( the clear stuff)
1/4 tsp brewers malt (any flavor that is cheap)
Measure malt into each jar
Add hot water and stir.
Measure in karo syrup to each jar stir very well.
Place on lids mostly tight. We will tighten down after p.c ing then cover with foil sqaures. Keeps water and sediments off the tyvek.
Fill p.c with about 3-4 in water place jars in p.c. remeber to use the rack that came with it.
Put on p.c lid and tighten down. Bring psi to 15 and set timer for 45 min. Needs to pc @ 15 psi for 45 min. To sterilize before inoculation
Guess I should post the tek for making lids for jars.
Supplies for lids
90% iso alcohol
Red r.t.v goo (automotive gasket high heat stuff)
Tyvek bags from post office cut into big enough squares to cover jar lids.
Lids for jars.
Gloves an paper towels
How to make lids.
Tools
Hammer and nail or phillips screw driver. Not a tiny one. Like 1/4 in size hole one.
1...release preasure from lids.
2...poke hole in center of lid and one off to the side.
3...remove ring and cover metal with tyvek square.
4...replace ring and put on just a little so the rtv can breath.
5...wipe down really good with alcohol and let dry but keep covered with alcohol paper towel
6...use red r.t.v to make a little blob only over the hole in the center. This will be our self healing port. The other hole is for gas exchange.
7...let r.t.v setup for 24 hrs. ( it stinks so bad. Put it somewhere you won't smell it)
