Lighting Gloom's first... everything. DWC LED.

Day 82. And here she is, sole survivor.

Think Different.

Removed some fan leaves and pointed all 3 TopLED Mars II 900watters at her.

Dat's a lotta light yer huckin' at er. :)

Dat's a lotta light yer huckin' at er. :)

She's a big girl, and she'll still chucking out new pistils, even though the trichs are amber as hell. For reference the back wall of the tent is 2 metres across. My photos never seem to do justice, Might re do my white balance or something, because she's come out a lot darker than she really looks.

One thing I don't get though...I see all these TD grows where the end result is just big light green ball of bud with next to no fan leaves...I still have fan leaves coming out the wazoo even after taking 20-30 big ones off that were shading popcorn and lower bud sites. She's been flushing over a week, probably run her up until next weekend so a bit over 2 week flush. Each plant i've harvested I've taken 25% of the wet weight as an estimation of dry weight...and its gone like 4-5-7-8. I hope this girl is a 10, and i look forward to using what I've learned in this grow to take 4 plants to this size/level next time around.

These 5 gallon buckets aren't big enough for me. Not even close...I was losing close to half a bucket per day in late flower per plant and while trying to look after 5 seperate buckets it was nigh impossible to have the EC dialled in to a point where I was replacing water and nutrients every day in every bucket. So I was mixing a bit strong, and topping up with water throughout the week, then topping up nutes when the EC was dropped a bit by mid week... The problem with that method is every day half a bucket of water is gone, and the half that's left had close to double the nutrients. The result was leaf tip burn...on almost every leaf.

So next time around I'm going with 4 30 litre pots, which I will have to make some sort of custom lid for the net pots for ( any suggestions...?), I will have the 4 pots hooked up to a 5th pot to act as a brain, with 19mm hose connecting all buckets to the brain at the bottom, and then i think 13mm diameter lines with a low/adjustable rate water pump circulating in to the buckets...gravity will feed back to the brain. I have all the plumbing fittings already sitting there. So I'm good to go. Also gotta get a 4th mars II 900w, bringing my power draw to like 1600w... Which hopefully isn't enough to attract attention...

I've also sort of half considered getting some smaller low wattage 3w LED panels to use for seedlings and the early stages of veg, to save on some power, and then blast then with the 5w units when they have filled out/started to flower/grown past the footprint of the small efficient panels.

Been a little inactive on the forum lately so just doing the rounds ;) She looks great bro! TD's do have the potential to keep on expanding so there is barely any leaf visible it just takes time for her to swell towards the end. I can't see any reason why she wouldnt fatten up more with all that light directed at her now - Whats the actual draw she is receiving? (sorry if you've mentioned details of the lights already). I'd say flush her until every fan leaf is yellow, by that time she should be nice and chunky
Looking forward to all your future grows bro, we're getting some great results in the hydro section recently :peace:

She's actually receiving about 1200 watts of LED at the moment. Just coz all the other plants are done so i figured i'd point them all at her for the last week.

Gloom you can go to the nearest farm supply and get plastic animal watering tubs (don't get the rubberized ones!) the size you need. To make the lids, use plywood cut to size and pre-drilled and paint them using a white epoxy-based paint to seal the wood (epoxy) and give you good light reflection (white). You can make 2 or 3 different types of tops for multi-pot sizes and configurations; 9x 3", 5x 6", 1x 10", etc., depending on the size of tub(s) you chose.

:peace:

Think Different 3 - still to be chopped, but more than the last one for sure.

Even if the last one comes in at 206, averaging it out I still got 5.85ounces per plant, which is what i was aiming for so im stoked for that as a first grow. Taking what I've learned away with me, Genetics withstanding i'm hoping to aim for 10 per plant next time around, if i can resist early harvests.

Actually if I worked it out...I probably got close to a gram per watt. I was running 1 light for the first few weeks, and then 2 lights for a while after that and then the third light came in when flower was in full swing. each light is 400-450watts.

Inspirational grow, good job m8!

Read all of it, lots of information for me, I'm soon to start my first indoor grow :)

How did you go with the inspections, did u have to take it all down?

Yeah pulled it all down put a big ass garbage bag over each so I didnt wipe trichs all over the walls stuck them I the shed out the back... funny thing is landlord didnt even open the garage door... didn't open any doors to be honest...wandered down the hallway stood in the kitchen chatting patted my dog and left. Im less worried about inspections now. I will aim to only have veging plantd around inspection time but I wont pull the setup down again.

Im only learning just now what it means to really let them mature... I know the first one was early I thought the second one maybe a little early the others I thought were done... but looking at the last one expand as she yellows off... yeah fuck the trichlomes I'm watching leaves from now on... and feeding nutes up until I see significant yellowing

Think Different 2 - 206g
Think Different 3 - 203g ( :( )

so averaged like 5.something ounces per plant. Pretty happy with that.
On a sidenote, I have a soil airpot autopounder im messing around with while setting up my new DWC grow....DWC is sooooo much easier... I mean...you have ur PH, and ur EC, temps humidity and thats it... I got yellowing on an early flower soil grow and im like...wtf.... Its an extremely stunted plant anyway, didn't have much light for the first 4 weeks of its life...so i'll be happy with whatever comes off it...but damn...now i gotta read up on soil n shit...
