Fuggzy atones while talking dirty

Looking Good!

Its no till for me also, partly because I'm not allowed to till as this is rental property, but also, you'd need a case of dynamite to "till" a 10x10 plot... we have about 2 inches of soil here then shale. And I prefer the control you have with containers vs in the ground.

Damn, can't wait to get the new greenhouse!
wow, Pop22, now I understand, a little more, we in same gardening boat, gotta make our soil, you got 2" to bedrock and they won't let you pile and and grow flies, what's the fun in that, I laugh about what I said about earthworms, they can't bail through bedrock to save themselves from the IceQueen, lol

man, love your landscaping
Thanks bud! Heres a few pics from last summer. Our yard back ups to a wild life preserve, and is a kinda thick cypress forest/marsh. We have a good amount of milkweed which is the primary food source for monarch butterflies, so we have tons of them, and cocoons. A couple wild bromeliads, and the nanner tree I use for me fermented extracts. For good measures a few images of the specialty landscaping.

I understand kinda how you feel. We don't have shale, but the whole damn state is just a pile of sand. The forest behind my house has great soil, but literally 3 feet away, it's just garbage. I also have a 6'x12' no till veggie garden, but getting it ready was not really worth the trouble. At least yet. I had to remove about 1' of just crap that looked like a dirty sand box littered with weed roots, no weeds, just their roots. Then I added about 2' of decomposing shaved wood, and about 1' of compost, with about 40 lbs of worm castings. I'd feed it EWC tea weekly for about 6 months, and then planted. The only thing to thrive was the radishes, and spinach. This year should be better do to having lots more organic materials, plus I've been composting my rabbits bedding for it too, HELLO NITROGEN! (alfalfa, and timothy hay with rabbit poo goodness)

I'd agree that the control of the pots is nice. Compared to my garden, it's a damn breeze. I'd love to have a green house. So you know what size your going with yet?

I've ordered a 10'x10' Shelter logic from ebay for $249 shipped. Looks much nicer than the cheap ones i've had.

I've looked at those, along with a whole lot of others, and ended up tellin' meself I could build something comparable for less dollars.

Famous last words right?!

I'm finishing up a lil' hothouse, 6x6x6, made of poly pipe and fittings and fabric clips and 6mil film and shade cloth and zippers and I've prolly spent about the same as the one you listed! (-:

LOL! Exactly why I bought instead of DIY! This one is just hard to beat for the price. I'm going to also, eventually build off the side of my shed, a 6'x8'x8' addition to use as a greenhouse. Using polycarbonate panels its going to cost around $325. Plus my labor, but this one will last a long time and will be heated for winter growing.
